The Opportunity:
We are looking for a Quality Engineer to join our team in Australia, focusing on backend and frontend test automation. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative Agile environment, has experience in test automation frameworks, and can work closely with developers to shift-left testing.
What you’ll be doing:
- Test Automation & Development
- Develop, maintain, and enhance automated tests for backend APIs, frontend applications, and integrations.
- Implement and optimize Playwright-based UI automation and API contract tests.
- Improve test execution time and reliability within CI/CD pipelines.
- Ensure observability-driven testing, using logs, traces, and metrics to enhance test coverage.
- Continuous Improvement & Quality Advocacy
- Enhance test frameworks, tools, and infrastructure to improve testing efficiency.
- Collaborate with Quality Engineers in AU & IN to maintain consistency in test practices.
- Investigate production issues using observability tools (Uptrace, logs, metrics) and create automated regression tests.
- Collaboration & Agile Practices
- Work closely with developers and product managers to define test strategies for new features.
- Participate in code reviews, contributing to best practices in testability and automation.
- Provide fast feedback loops in an Agile environment, ensuring early defect detection.
- Contribute to requirement coverage metrics by mapping automation to product features.
What we’re looking for:
- 3-5 years of experience as a Quality, Automation Engineer, or similar role in a SaaS or Agile environment.
- Strong automation skills with TypeScript/JavaScript, Playwright, and API testing frameworks (e.g., Postman, REST Assured).
- Exposure to performance testing tools ( k6, JMeter, Locust).
- Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Buildkite, Jenkins,etc.).
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Experience working with observability tools to drive test strategies.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced team.
