About The Role

At Bunnings, we’re investing in our in-house software engineering capability to shape the future of our tech platforms. As our new Quality Analyst Lead, you’ll play a key role in driving quality outcomes at scale - leading a passionate team, uplifting testing practices and embedding performance strategies that make a real difference to our customers and teams.

This is a leadership opportunity where your impact will be felt across the business. You’ll be part of a collaborative, forward-thinking technology group that’s all about continuous improvement, innovation and inspiring you to give it a red hot go.

As a Quality Analyst Lead you will:

  • Lead and grow a team of 10+ Quality Analysts and Senior Analysts, fostering a culture of ownership, collaboration and high performance.
  • Shape and deliver a test strategy that supports agile product development across both commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) and in-house platforms.
  • Champion test automation - designing frameworks, embedding practices and enabling squads to deliver faster, more reliable outcomes.
  • Drive performance testing programs that enhance customer experience and ensure scalability and supportability.
  • Collaborate with delivery leads, architects and product owners to align testing across the full delivery lifecycle - from system testing to UAT.
  • Leverage modern tools (including AI-powered solutions) to uplift testing capabilities and streamline delivery.
  • Influence ways-of-working and contribute to shaping a positive, outcome-focused team culture.

About You

You are a people-focused leader who excels in fast-paced, agile environments. While you have a strong technical background in quality assurance, your talent for coaching, mentoring and inspiring others truly distinguishes you. You enjoy problem-solving, seeking better solutions and supporting others in their growth and success. You work well across teams, build strong relationships and are comfortable leading change and promoting continuous improvement. You believe in empowering teams to take ownership and deliver excellent results.
You’ll be part of a supportive, down-to-earth team that values trust, respect and teamwork, where everyone backs each other, celebrates achievements and learns from challenges.

You'll additionally need:
  • 10+ years’ experience in quality assurance or related fields.
  • 5+ years’ leadership experience, ideally in cross-functional delivery teams.
  • Proven expertise in test automation frameworks and tools (open-source and codeless).
  • Experience with performance testing and integrating validation into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • A track record of delivering technology change in a product-led environment.
  • Familiarity with Agile delivery and DevOps practices.

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene

Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
