Description
Be the gatekeeper of quality across Contour’s growing automation and business systems.
Are you the kind of person who finds satisfaction in breaking things before anyone else can? Do you take pride in ensuring every system, workflow, and form runs exactly as intended? Do you want to help shape the testing framework that keeps one of Australia’s fastest-growing education companies running reliably at scale?
We are looking for a QA Engineer (UAT and End User Testing) to join our Automations and Business Solutions team. You will make sure every automation, integration, and internal tool we build actually works for the people who use it.
This is a hands-on QA role that blends testing discipline with curiosity, attention to detail, and systems thinking. You will plan and execute end-to-end tests, run UAT with teams, and validate everything from n8n workflows to bespoke internal tools and forms built in-house. You will help create the documentation, structure, and rhythm that ensures our operations run smoothly and reliably across thousands of users and processes.
Who We Are
At Contour, we’re reshaping education, one student at a time.
Born from the frustration of students who knew the system could be better, we set out to build what we once wished existed: tutoring that actually works. Not generic classes. Not recycled notes. Not overpriced, overcrowded rooms with an out-of-touch teacher who couldn’t relate. But a complete ecosystem of tutoring, resources, and support, meticulously designed to help every student reach their full potential.
Since 2020, over 10,000+ students have trusted Contour to guide their academic journey, and we’ve grown to over 300+ team members. We’ve produced hundreds of 99+ ATARs, tutored the World-Record UCAT scorer, and placed more students into medical school than any school in Australia.
Our growth is a testament to the simple philosophy: Put the student first, always. Everything we design, from our world-class tutor-training programs to our purpose-built campuses, exists to help students master content faster, perform with confidence, and even rekindle the joy of learning.
Contour is a group of three brands united by one goal: to give every student the best chance to achieve their full potential:
- Contour Education: Reshaping how students master their high school subjects with small-group tutoring, structured resources, and 1-on-1 support across Maths, Science, and English.
- Contour Medprep: Reshaping medical preparation with a proven, step-by-step pathway through the UCAT, interviews, and admissions, led by a team of 100+ medical students.
- Contour TestPrep: Reshaping test preparation, starting with the selective entry exam, through rigorous tutoring, mock exams, and data-driven feedback to give students a decisive advantage.
This is Contour. Built by students, for students.
What You Will Do
As our QA Engineer, you will be the final safeguard for quality, accuracy, and reliability across every automation and workflow we release.
- Run End-to-End Testing: Plan and execute UAT across automations in Make.com, n8n, HubSpot, and Monday.com, validating seamless performance across systems like the LMS, CMS, CRM, and Google Workspace.
- Test Custom Tools and Forms: Validate in-house tools, forms, and lightweight web solutions to ensure usability, accuracy, and reliable data flow between connected systems.
- Design Test Plans and Documentation: Create detailed test plans with clear acceptance criteria, documenting bugs and feedback to support efficient fixes and smooth handovers.
- Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with the Lead Automation Engineer and stakeholders to coordinate test cycles, prioritise fixes, and validate releases.
- Monitor and Retest: Track automation runs, verify fixes, maintain a changelog, and ensure all updates meet release standards.
- Improve QA Systems: Build templates, standardise QA documentation, and define consistent quality gates for testing and deployment.
- Act as the End User Advocate: Approach testing from a user perspective, identifying confusing flows, unclear logic, and friction points that impact reliability and experience.
