About Salesforce

Salesforce is the #1 AI CRM, where humans with agents drive customer success together. Here, ambition meets action. Tech meets trust. And innovation isn’t a buzzword — it’s a way of life. The world of work as we know it is changing and we're looking for Trailblazers who are passionate about bettering business and the world through AI, driving innovation, and keeping Salesforce's core values at the heart of it all.

Ready to level-up your career at the company leading workforce transformation in the agentic era? You’re in the right place! Agentforce is the future of AI, and you are the future of Salesforce.

Data is redefining how governments serve citizens — and Tableau is at the centre of that transformation. This is a rare opportunity to lead Salesforce’s Tableau Public Sector business across Australia and New Zealand, shaping how government organisations use AI‑powered analytics to make smarter, faster, and more transparent decisions. If you are a senior sales leader with deep analytics platform expertise, this role puts you at the forefront of market‑defining change.

About Salesforce and Tableau

Salesforce is the world’s #1 CRM and a trusted partner to governments and enterprises globally. Within Salesforce, Tableau plays a critical role in helping organisations see, understand, and act on their data — turning complexity into clarity and insight into action.

With the evolution of Tableau and Tableau Plus,  the platform now brings together AI‑powered analytics, advanced visualisation, and deeper integration across the Salesforce ecosystem. This next chapter of Tableau enables public sector organisations to move beyond reporting to predictive insight, embedded analytics, and collaborative, data‑driven decision‑making at scale.

Across Australia and New Zealand, government, public sector and education agencies are investing heavily in digital transformation. Data and analytics are no longer optional — they are foundational to improving citizen services, policy outcomes, and operational efficiency. Salesforce’s Public Sector team is uniquely positioned to support this shift, combining trusted technology with deep industry expertise.

We are consistently recognised as a great place to work, known for our inclusive culture, strong values, and commitment to innovation. Our growth in ANZ creates a compelling opportunity for an experienced sales leader to leave a lasting mark on the analytics landscape.

As Regional Sales Director, you will own the strategy and execution for Tableau’s public sector sales motion across the region. You will lead a high‑performing team of Account Executives, guiding them through complex, consultative sales cycles with customers.

This is a hands‑on leadership role where credibility matters. You will actively engage with senior customer stakeholders, shape deal strategy, and coach your team through technically sophisticated conversations about analytics, AI, and data platforms. Your leadership will directly influence market perception, revenue growth, and Salesforce’s long‑term success in the public sector.

With strong executive visibility and significant white space in the ANZ market, this role offers the chance to build, scale, and evolve a business that is central to Salesforce’s public sector strategy.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead, inspire, and scale a team of Account Executives, driving a high performance culture across the ANZ public sector market.

  • Define and execute a regional go‑to‑market strategy for Tableau, aligned to government and education digital transformation priorities.

  • Act as an executive sponsor on key opportunities, engaging C‑level and senior government and education stakeholders as a trusted advisor on analytics and data strategy.

  • Coach your team through complex, multi‑stakeholder sales cycles that require deep understanding of analytics platforms and customer use cases.

  • Partner closely with Solution Engineering, Marketing, Customer Success, and the broader Salesforce Public Sector leadership team to deliver cohesive customer outcomes.

  • Build accurate forecasts, maintain pipeline discipline, and use data to drive performance, accountability, and continuous improvement.

  • Champion customer advocacy by ensuring long‑term value realisation, referenceability, and trusted partnerships.

 What You Bring

  • (Essential) Proven leadership experience managing and scaling enterprise, quota‑carrying sales teams.

  • (Essential) Deep domain expertise in analytics platforms- Tableau experience is highly preferred, and experience with, Power BI, Qlik, Looker, Domo, or similar analytics products is mandatory

  •  Demonstrated success selling complex software solutions into government, public sector and education organisations, ideally within Australia and/or New Zealand.

  • Strong executive presence with the ability to lead sophisticated, technical conversations around data, analytics, and AI.

  • A strategic mindset combined with a hands‑on leadership style — comfortable coaching deals, shaping strategy, and driving execution.

  • Track record of building inclusive, high‑performance cultures that attract, develop, and retain top talent.

  • Passion for the power of data and analytics to drive meaningful organisational and societal impact.

Why This Role Matters

This role sits at the intersection of technology, leadership, and public impact. You will directly influence how these customers use data to serve communities and students better, while positioning Tableau as the analytics platform of choice across ANZ. It is a career‑defining opportunity to lead transformation at scale.

What We Offer

  • The opportunity to lead a high‑growth, strategically critical business within Salesforce’s Public Sector organisation.

  • Access to world‑class enablement, product innovation, and leadership development programs.

  • A values‑driven, inclusive culture where authenticity, trust, and equality are core to how we operate.

  • Competitive compensation, performance incentives, and benefits designed to support your wellbeing and long‑term success.

  • Flexibility and trust — we focus on outcomes, impact, and sustainable performance.

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene

Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
