There's no doubt we are a corporate organisation, but we do it a little differently here. We're unconventional in many ways - we're fast and considered, we take risks, we question the norms and above all, we've got your back. If you're after a family of innovative storytellers, walk right in.
We're transforming to make Aussie bigger, better, stronger, and more impactful. We have a unique opportunity to build delivery capability that provides a differentiated approach to Telco. Join us as we imagine and design a radically different future, unconstrained by how we do things today.
About the Role
This is a dual impact role for someone who can run projects and own quality. As a Project Manager - Quality & Testing, you'll lead end-to-end delivery on your own projects while bringing deep testing expertise to programs that need it most.
This is a maximum 24-month term contract - a unique opportunity to make a significant impact during our transformation journey.
You’ll own the test strategy, scenario design, defect governance, and go-live readiness and you’ll embed what you build into the way every EPMO project runs. You’ll also carry your own PM portfolio, so you know what it takes to make the framework work in the real world, not just on paper. You’re the kind of person who can stand up a test strategy, a scenario tracker, and a quality gate framework from a blank page and then coach other PMs to use them. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Enterprise Delivery & PMO, you'll be part of a talented team turning strategy into reality through quality, customer-focused delivery and fit-for-purpose governance.
Telco or Utilities sector is strongly preferred as you’ll be operating in a complex regulatory and integration environment, and sector familiarity will accelerate your impact from day one.

At Aussie Broadband we believe difference is something to celebrate. Being advocates for Inclusion and Diversity means our team can bring their whole selves to work and allows us to better represent our customers and the communities that we serve. As a proud Equal Opportunity Employer, supporting and celebrating difference is just one way that we demonstrate our value of ‘Be good to people’ everyday.

Join us as we continue to grow and make a mark as the 4th largest telco in Australia!

How will you support our “Why?”

As our Project Manager - Quality & Testing, you will put our values up in lights by delivering these activities and outcomes:

End-to-End Project Delivery

  • Own scope, schedule, milestones, dependencies, and critical path - grounded in facts and firm commitments
  • Manage risks, issues, and dependencies with discipline, surfacing them early to decision-makers
  • Run governance and reporting cadence - sponsor briefings, steerco papers, and exec-grade status reports
  • Build trusted relationships with stakeholders from exec sponsors to external delivery partners

Quality & Test Strategy Leadership

  • Develop and own the test strategy across your projects - from unit testing through to UAT, regression, performance, and go-live readiness
  • Define testing framework from scratch - the standards, processes, and methodology that will be adopted across all EPMO projects and used by every PM in EPMO
  • Lead the quality conversation - not just what to test, but how, when, and why
  • Champion test automation and work with engineering leads to grow automation coverage and maturity
  • Define and enforce quality gates at key delivery milestones

Delivery Planning

  • Partner with business and technology leaders to turn projects into executable plans with quality criteria defined from day one
  • Understand business drivers and how your scope impacts revenue, cost, customer experience, or risk
  • Manage dependencies including test environments, test data, and integration partners
  • Support business agility and adapt quickly to market or regulatory changes

Leadership & Innovation

  • Coach and mentor delivery teams to reach new heights
  • Challenge the status quo and identify improvement opportunities
  • Bring new thinking and share better practices across the Delivery Community
  • Drive automation-first thinking and eliminate waste from the delivery ecosystem
  • Build psychologically safe environments where quality is everyone's job
  • Uplift testing capability across the EPMO -  coach and support other Project Managers to adopt the framework, embed quality practices into their delivery, and raise the bar across the group

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene

Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
