The Project Manager – Masks Sustaining Engineering is responsible for the management of mask and accessory projects during the sustaining phase of the product lifecycle. This role ensures all activities comply with internal and external standards and regulatory requirements. The role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver quality products that meet customer expectations, are delivered on time, and within budget.
Key ResponsibilitiesProject Leadership & StrategyManage sustaining engineering projects for masks and accessories, ensuring alignment with quality system, regulations, customer requirements, timelines, and budgets.
Collaborate with senior leadership across departments to define strategic objectives and monitor outcomes.
Establish and maintain clear commercial targets and design concepts as guiding principles throughout the project lifecycle.
Facilitate effective communication and alignment across functional areas to enable sound business decision-making.
Form and lead cross-functional teams by strategically allocating resources, setting milestones, and aligning team members' skills with project needs.
Integrate project execution into ResMed’s Portfolio Management and Governance systems.
Facilitate alignment on sustaining project priorities among key stakeholders
Plan and manage project budgets in line with ROI targets; provide recommendations for budget adjustments as needed.
Deliver timely assessments on project viability and highlight critical path dependencies and risks.
Lead matrix-managed teams by clearly articulating goals, managing performance, and promoting accountability.
Promote knowledge sharing across business units by encouraging research, innovation, and the dissemination of insights on technology, markets, and regulatory trends.
Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent industry experience.
Strong understanding of the product development lifecycle.
Demonstrated experience in managing cross-functional teams.
Formal training in project management methodologies (e.g., PMP, Six Sigma, DFSS, experimental design).
Proven ability to manage scheduling, cost, and performance of design projects.
Effective change management skills to drive continuous improvement.
Strong negotiation skills to manage competing priorities and stakeholder interests.
Track record of delivering projects aligned with time-to-market objectives.
Significant project management experience, ideally in a regulated industry.
Medical device industry experience.
Postgraduate qualifications or an MBA.
Broad commercial experience across multiple business functions.
Working knowledge of Atlassian toolset, particularly Jira and Confluence
