About Project
This role is an opportunity for you to join the highly successful Southern Program Alliance is contracted by Victorian Government to remove most dangerous and congested level crossings. This is a critical infrastructure project with significant public impact.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Alliance General Manager, the Program Wide Communications & Stakeholder Relations Manager plays a critical enablement role in building and maintaining Program-wide lasting and valuable relationships with our client; Level Crossing Removal Project (LXRP) and key stakeholders.
This is a strategic role that encompasses all aspects of community engagement, communications, and stakeholder relationships. The role brings a proactive risk lens to build plans and strategies to which the supporting team delivers as part of the project outcomes.
Responsibilities
Design and implement tailored community engagement approaches based on specific circumstances.
Develop and manage budgets for community engagement initiatives.
Conduct risk assessments, prioritizing health and safety in all engagement activities.
Plan and advise on creative and effective communication messages and media platforms.
Demonstrate flexibility in planning to accommodate diverse community needs, including Aboriginal communities.
Monitor and act on feedback from events and campaigns, sharing insights with leadership.
Define and adhere to clear escalation paths for unresolved conflicts.
Communicate evaluation findings effectively through written reports and presentations.
- Manage research design, data collection, and analysis to enhance communication outcomes
Required Skills and Competencies
- Tertiary qualifications in communications, social planning, community development or a related field
- Experience in proactively developing and implementing community engagement and stakeholder relations programs
- Experience and knowledge of the key stakeholders in the rail industry including local government, environment groups, local citizens’ groups and special interest groups highly desirable but not essential
- Experience providing leadership and mentoring a team of stakeholder and communications professionals
