The Product Owner defines and manages the product backlog, collaborates with stakeholders, tests products, and conducts market research while ensuring delivery of high-quality software.
KeyResponsibility
The Product Owner (PO) plays a pivotal role in defining, planning, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality software products. As the primary stakeholder of the product, the PO is responsible for conveying the product vision to the development team, prioritizing tasks based on business value, and ensuring that the product meets the needs and expectations of its end users. Given our environment, the PO must be dynamic, proactive, and comfortable in a fast-paced setting, frequently wearing multiple hats.
Doc Management
Create, prioritize, and maintain a well-structured product backlog, ensuring it aligns with the product vision and objectives.
Break down complex product requirements into user stories and actionable tasks.
Manage internal and external product docs and ensure timely updates.
Stakeholder Collaboration
Collaborate closely with stakeholders, including management, marketing, sales, and customer support, to gather and validate requirements.
Manage stakeholder expectations regarding product features, timelines, and delivery.
Team Engagement
Serve as the primary point of contact for the marketing team regarding product-related questions.
Actively participate in cross-department meetings (kick-off meeting, product introduction meeting) and prepare materials for other departments to understand the product.
Feedback Loop
Collect feedback from end-users, the marketing team, and other stakeholders to update the product feature pipeline continuously.
Test products and address issues, ensuring a high standard of product quality.
Roadmap & Release Planning
Develop and maintain a product roadmap communicating the short and long-term product direction.
Coordinate with the development team to determine release schedules.
Market Research & Competitor Analysis
Conduct research to identify market trends, opportunities, and competitive landscape to influence product decisions.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
Strong understanding of software development.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Willingness to learn new and hard stuff.
Problem-solving mindset.
Preferred Qualifications:
Computer science/engineering background.
Writing skill.
