The Specifics:


As an Industry Product Manager at Gentrack, you will be responsible for holistic management of one of our products or an investment stream. Your role will encompass the following key areas: 

  

Regulatory compliance 

  • Regulatory analysis: Monitor the changing regulatory and compliance landscape and analyse how our products need to work to enable our customers to run compliant businesses 
  • Regulatory feedback: Provide insightful and useful feedback to regulators during consultation processes to ensure regulations  
  • Commercialisation: Commercialise our regulatory change, matching customer value to price.  
  • Thought leadership: Be a visible subject matter expert to the business and communicate how we are supporting customers to run compliant businesses in both internal and external forums 

 

Sales support 

  • RFP assistance: Help our sales team respond to requests for proposal and describe our product accurately but in the best light to support our sales teams to succeed 
  • Product fit assessment: Analyse RFP and deal requirements to assess the degree of fit that our current product achieves, and to identify any gaps.  
  • Product advocacy: Work with other Product Managers to describe commonly occurring product gaps and to advocate for how we could improve our product fit in each market 

 

Product Execution 

If the role is operating within the context of a product delivery team:  

  • Build Exceptional Products: Work with
    cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products that meet customer needs and drive business growth.
     
  • Project Management: Ensure timely delivery of product features and enhancements, using appropriate planning and prioritisation techniques and managing timeline expectations effectively. 
  • Quality Assurance: Maintain
    high standards for product quality, working closely with engineering and QA teams to build capability and resolve issues promptly.
     

 

Customer Insight 

  • Understand Customer Needs: Gather customer feedback
    and analyse data to gain deep insights into customer requirements and pain points.
     
  • Customer Advocacy: Champion the voice of the customer within the organization, ensuring that product decisions align with customer needs and expectations. 
  • User Experience: Collaborate with UX teams to create intuitive and user-friendly product interfaces. 

 

Influencing People 

  • Leadership: Inspire and motivate the teams you work with, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment. 
  • Stakeholder Management: Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and customers, effectively communicating product vision and progress. 
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, sales, and support teams to ensure successful product launches and ongoing customer satisfaction. 

 

Product Strategy 

  • Roadmap Planning: Create and maintain a product roadmap that prioritizes features and initiatives based on business value and customer impact which supports Gentrack’s overall business goals. 
  • Market Analysis: Stay informed about industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies to identify opportunities for investment. 
  • Productization: Work with delivery to identify customer-led development that has broader value to our customers and productise accordingly 

 

What we're looking for (you don’t need to be a guru at all,

  • Domain knowledge in the energy utilities sector, with a particular focus on knowledge of relevant energy market regulations 
  • Proven experience in product management, with a track record of leading successful product initiatives. 
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and guide software teams towards achieving common goals. 
  • Deep understanding of customer needs and the ability to translate those needs into actionable product strategies and investments. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex ideas to diverse audiences. 
  • Ability to articulate value and critically assess investment cases for product investments
