Job Description

THE ROLE

At Lumi, product design goes beyond pixels. It’s about solving real customer problems that drive the business forward. Our designers own the process, partner with product and engineering, and make decisions based on research, data, and strategic thinking. We value autonomy, clarity, and speed, and expect designers to balance creative vision with practical execution.

As a Product Designer at Lumi, you’ll take ownership of features and mid-sized projects that shape Lumi Finance’s products. You’ll move fluidly from discovery to delivery, turning problems into thoughtful, user-centred solutions that deliver customer and business impact.

  • Own the end-to-end design of features and mid-sized projects, from research and concept through to production-ready delivery.
  • Contribute to key product metrics by designing holistic solutions that balance user needs with business outcomes.
  • Use research, data, and insights to make designs defensible and impactful.
  • Collaborate effectively with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders, knowing when to involve others and how to integrate feedback.
  • Clearly articulate design decisions and simplify complex ideas into clear, understandable concepts.
  • Extend and maintain Lumi’s design system by producing scalable interaction and visual design patterns.
  • Deliver consistently strong design work that pushes projects forward with minimal iteration.
  • Approach problems with curiosity, challenging assumptions constructively while balancing constraints.

Qualifications

THIS PERSON IS SOMEONE WITH

You’re a product designer who’s confident in your craft and ready to take on bigger challenges, with the drive to keep growing your impact.

  • Proven product design experience, covering research, discovery, prototyping, and delivery.
  • Fluency in UX processes and strong skills in both interaction and visual design.
  • Experience designing for digital products, with exposure to financial services or complex systems a plus.
  • research and data-informed mindset, using insights to guide and validate your design decisions.
  • Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to work independently while contributing as part of a cross-functional team.
  • Clear communication and storytelling abilities, adapting your style to different audiences.
  • systems-thinking approach, designing with scalability and long-term impact in mind.
  • Personal effectiveness — you seek feedback, pursue growth, adapt quickly to change, and follow through on commitments.
  • Resilience and patience in solving complex or ambiguous problems.
