This is a first line Product Compliance & Risk role, embedded in the APAC Product Squad.
You, together with the team in APAC, will be responsible for:
Implementing and uplifting controls to effectively address the risks Wise is exposed to in APAC:
-
By understanding both the Wise product deeply enough and local regulatory expectations, support Product and other first-line teams to identify controls they have in place, the risk(s) the controls are mitigating, and how to document the controls within the Wise Group Governance, Risk Management and Compliance (GRC) tool;
-
Working with Product and other first-line teams to identify and/or remediate any gaps in control design, with a focus on gaps in meeting various regulatory obligations across the APAC region. This includes ensuring that any new controls are implemented consistently prior to launch;
-
Working with control owners to uplift existing controls, to ensure documentation accurately reflects control design, and controls effectively address the risk(s) they intend to mitigate; and
-
Supporting Product and other first-line teams to interpret regulatory requirements across APAC, and improve their controls accordingly to avoid regulatory breaches and/or incidents.
Defining and mapping scalable control frameworks across APAC:
-
Identifying where APAC regulatory requirements can be met by leveraging existing global controls and when unique requirements need prioritisation, optimising for utilisation of existing controls where possible.
Designing and implementing first-line control monitoring and testing:
-
Supporting control framework owners to build risk-based controls testing programs, as required to meet APAC regulatory requirements;
This role will give you the opportunity to:
-
Grow your hands-on FinTech knowledge at full speed;
-
Build best-in-class controls: the role provides a unique opportunity to build robust controls supporting the compliance of our state-of-the-art products; and
-
Work together with our amazing teams both regionally and globally.

About you:
Must have:

-
Ability to effectively and clearly communicate and provide practical, actionable, and value added recommendations;
