Lead technical strategy and cross-functional execution for agent integrations, quality measurement, observability, API governance, monetization, rate limits, quotas, runtime safeguards, and platform roadmaps. Translate ambiguous, multi-team challenges into milestones, ownership models, technical decisions, and scalable standards for tool ecosystems and automation platforms.
Engineering | Seattle, United States | Remote, Remote | Sydney, Australia
We are seeking a Principal Technical Program Manager to drive technical strategy and cross-functional execution across our agent integration, quality, and API governance platform layers.
In this role, you will lead the platform and programs that help agents connect reliably to first- and third-party tools, establish practical ways to measure and improve agent quality, and govern agent and automation traffic through rate limits, quotas, API standards, and runtime safeguards. The scope will evolve as the platform and industry mature, so success requires strong technical judgment, structured execution, and comfort operating in ambiguity.

Key Scope & Core Responsibilities
Agent integrations and tool ecosystem
- Drive standardized tool-calling interfaces, action schemas, and integration patterns across internal and external ecosystems.
- Partner with Security and Identity teams on authentication, token exchange, permission scopes, tenant isolation, and credential management.
- Improve onboarding and lifecycle management for teams and partners adding tools, skills, and automated actions.
Agent quality and observability
- Define practical quality measures for agent accuracy, task completion, tool selection, groundedness, safety, and user experience.
- Establish representative test sets and eval benchmarks, golden scenarios, and regression practices for prompt, model, tool, and workflow changes.
- Partner with engineering teams on agent traces and telemetry that make multi-step execution, tool failures, latency, and quality issues diagnosable.
API monetization, governance and runtime controls
- Lead rate limiting, tenant quotas, concurrency controls, and traffic-shaping strategies across agent APIs and automation triggers.
- Establish safeguards for runaway loops and downstream failures, including timeouts, retries, backoff, circuit breakers, and graceful degradation.
- Drive API standards, versioning, backward compatibility, breaking-change management, and deprecation practices.
- Drive API monetization capabilities such as standardization of API units, metering, integration across all experiences and interfaces
Cross-functional execution
- Turn ambiguous, multi-team problems into clear roadmaps, milestones, ownership models, and technical decision documents.
- Facilitate trade-offs such as synchronous versus asynchronous tool execution, live versus offline quality signals, and global versus tenant-scoped controls.

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene
Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
