This undertaking will see you use your design and technical leadership capabilities to directly reach and enhance the digital lives of over 9 million Commbank customers every day.

We are looking for experienced full cycle engineers with a focus but not limited to TypeScript, Next.js and or React in connection with Appollo GraphQL and cloud native infrastructure using Serverless Stack Toolkit (SST).

In this role, you will support the program to deliver an ambitious vision against our customer objectives: to create enduring technology differentiation with unmatched digital experiences built on decoupled, resilient, and reliable technology foundations.

The 3 key objectives for our customers are:

  • Enhance financial wellbeing of Australians through seamless digital interactions.

  • Accelerate Delivery Velocity: Simplify and untangle complex legacy architectures to enable faster delivery.

We’re interested in hearing from people who:

  • Have a proven track record in developing large-scale digital applications utilizing modern technology stacks.

  • Provides experiences across full stack, full cycle software engineering with a focus on front-end solutions e.g Next.js, React, Typescript.

  • Possesses practical experience in operating microservices within a DevSecOps framework.

  • Have experience in addressing Tech Debt using a commercially focused and pragmatic approach.

  • Can identify, gain support, and ensure execution of technical direction and strategy for the business.

  • Encourages risk-taking and constructively challenges the status quo, while influencing stakeholders and building diverse and inclusive teams.

Skills Required:

We use a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. We don’t expect you to know them all but experience or exposure with some of these will set you up for success in this team:

Developing 3-tier application both on-premises and on cloud covering:

  • Frontend: React, Typescript, Next.js (preferred).

  • Backend: .Net core, C#, Java, Node.js.

  • Database: SQL and NoSQL experience (both admin and usage).

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene

Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
