We’re on the lookout for a Principal Product Strategist to join our Wealth Management Product Development team, based in Melbourne or Sydney.This is a rare opportunity to play a strategic and creative leadership role at the intersection of design, business, and technology.

As a senior leader, you'll be driving innovative, user-centric digital product strategies across our product portfolio. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you’ll help shape the future of our products, assess product-market fit, and ensure they deliver meaningful impact for our clients and business.If you thrive on turning complex ideas into compelling experiences, love influencing product direction, and are a champion of human-centred design—this is the role for you.

Some of the amazing things you’ll be involved in:

  • Defining and leading strategic design and product proposition initiatives aligned to business goals and market trends

  • Developing compelling product strategies, roadmaps and innovative solutions that span design, business, and technology

  • Conducting deep user and market research to uncover opportunities and influence product direction

  • Driving a human-centred design approach across the full product lifecycle—from discovery to delivery

  • Facilitating design sprints, workshops and co-creation sessions that bring stakeholders into the product development journey

  • Creating user flows, wireframes and prototypes to test, communicate and iterate on design concepts

  • Collaborating closely with Product and Engineering leadership as a strategic design partner

  • Coaching and mentoring Product Managers and Designers to elevate strategic thinking and design excellence

  • Contributing to the evolution of Iress’ design systems, tools and frameworks

What you will bring:

  • 10+ years’ experience in product design or strategy, with a track record of delivering successful products.

  • Deep expertise across the end-to-end design process—research, ideation, prototyping, usability testing, and delivery.

  • A strong foundation in human-centred design, strategic thinking, and navigating ambiguity.

  • Experience in influencing cross-functional teams, aligning stakeholders and delivering user and business outcomes.

  • Confidence using design tools such as Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, UXPin, and Miro.

  • Outstanding communication and storytelling skills to influence a wide range of audiences, including senior executives.

  • Passion for continuous learning and keeping up with industry best practices in product design, strategy and innovation.

  • A collaborative mindset and the ability to balance creative vision with commercial realities.
