About Us:

At Cadmus, we believe in making a difference in the educational landscape by providing educators and students with access to high-quality learning and assessment. We are a mission-driven EdTech company that provides a secure, research-backed online assessment platform designed to uplift the university experience for both students and educators. As a fast-paced startup expanding globally across the UK, US, and Asia-Pacific, we foster a culture centered on "prevention through support," aiming to reduce assessment stress and improve educational outcomes on a global scale.

Why this role is different
  • Total Ownership: You are the primary POC for all product decisions. You don't just "manage" features; you architect the logic from the ground up.
  • No "Jira Jockies": We offload administrative project management to Engineering leads so you can focus on deep work and strategy.
  • Influence: You report to the CPO and serve as the expert voice for Engineering, Design, and Commercial teams.
  • Focus: Clear documentation is our primary mode of coordination. You are not pushing pixels or running visual UI tests, or running basic sales demos for the commercial team.
Your Core Mandate
  1. Solution Architecture: Take raw problems and turn them into high-detail functional specs. You own the "how it works" before Design prototypes or Engineering builds.
  2. Proactive Stewardship: Audit the existing product. Use raw data, feedback from internal stakeholders, user research, support tracks and bug reports as discovery tools to "turbocharge" the user experience.
  3. User Authority: Conduct your own deep-dive research with teachers and students to become the company's leading source of user truth.
  4. Vision Guardian: Use our Product Vision Document to filter requests. Be the "ruthless prioritizer" who says no to noise to protect product integrity.

Requirements
  1. The Startup Grind: 7+ years in PM, with at least 3 years in a Series B/C scale-up (30–150 people). You thrive in chaos and build your own playbooks.
  2. Technical Depth: You aren't afraid of APIs or database schemas. You can hold your own in a logic debate with a Lead Engineer.
  3. Complex SaaS/EdTech: Experience in "heavy logic" environments (LMS integrations, Fintech, or B2B workflow tools).
  4. High Agency: You see a friction point and draft a spec to fix it before anyone asks. You "take" responsibility; you don't wait for it.
How We Measure Success

We measure impact by the Trust and Clarity you build across the team.

In 3 Months, success looks like:
  • Source of Truth: You answer complex logic questions from Sales and Engineering without consulting the CPO.
  • Airtight Specs: Your first three "Blueprints" move to build with zero rewrites or logic-gap queries.
  • Proactive Auditing: You’ve identified three "hidden" friction points in the product and mapped their improvement.
  • High Agency: You’ve turned feedback and data into validated product insights without being prompted.
In 6 Months, success looks like:
  • The Trusted Advisor: Engineering and Design proactively seek your "Logic Review" before starting work.
  • Visionary Cohesion: New features feel like a single, elegant ecosystem, not a collection of fragmented tools.
  • Turbocharged Product: We see a measurable drop in support tickets and a market-leading "Ease of Use" reputation.
  • Operational Flow: You maintain a consistent sustainably intense work-week because your documentation is so clear it eliminates "emergency" meetings.

Benefits
  • A flexible working culture where you have the option to work from Melbourne HQ for 3 days of the week. More if you are interested.
  • A diverse and inclusive workplace where there are no barriers to anyone succeeding
  • A surrounding team of mission-driven individuals who genuinely love what they do

At Cadmus, we hire great people from a wide variety of backgrounds because it makes our company stronger. We never discriminate on the basis of race, religion, national origin, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, age, or marital, or disability status. If you share our values and our enthusiasm for education, you will find a home at Cadmus.

If you need assistance or accommodations made due to a disability, please let us know.

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene

Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
