Job Description

Due to an increasing project pipeline, our ‘Renewables, Generation & Advisory’ team in Brisbane have created an opportunity for a Principal Electrical Engineer with experience in Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). This is a fantastic opportunity to be actively involved in an innovative and highly motivated team of energy professionals and be instrumental in delivering landmark projects throughout Australia and New Zealand.

We’re flexible on location, with the role open to candidates based in Melbourne, Sydney, Perth, or Brisbane.

As a Principal Electrical Engineer within the team, you will:

  • Actively participate in and contribute to the winning, management, and delivery of moderate to large-scale projects whilst enhancing client and working relationships.
  • You will also inspire and support the development and training of leading-edge technical skills and understand how to practically apply them in ways that add value to AECOM and its clients.
  • Provide specialised technical input to studies and design for your area of expertise.
  • Mentor junior engineers to enhance AECOM’s reputation in the Energy Market.

Qualifications

The following qualifications and experience are highly desired, but if you don’t tick all the boxes, you could still be a perfect fit for this role. Please apply, all applications will be considered.

The qualities that help you thrive:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent qualification 
  • Ideally, 12 + years of experience for a consultant, OEM or developer with strong technical knowledge of renewable energy and BESS Projects. 
  • Experience in delivering Power Generation designs and major energy projects 
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant Australian Standards and industry guidelines
  • Outstanding communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels of seniority
