- We are seeking a highly experienced and technically accomplished engineer to provide leadership, technical authority, and strategic direction in the sustainment of aircraft structures.
- This role is pivotal in ensuring the structural integrity, safety, and performance of current and future platforms across their entire lifecycle.
- Join a multi-disciplinary team delivering hands-on engineering, integration, testing, sustainment and in-service support for high-readiness operations.
As a Principal Aeronautical Engineer (Structures) at Boeing you will:
- Act as a subject matter expert for aircraft structures, providing authority on design, stress analysis, fatigue, and certification.
- Lead and oversee the development, validation, and approval of structural designs, load assessments, and repair solutions.
- Ensure all structural solutions meet airworthiness regulations and certification requirements (DASA, military standards).
- Provide engineering leadership for AOG and sustainment support, delivering timely, safe, and cost-effective repair solutions, using classical techniques and Boeing tools.
- Drive structural trade studies, optimization, and risk assessments to support program-level decisions.
- Mentor and guide teams of engineers, fostering growth in technical expertise and engineering judgment.
- Collaborate across disciplines-design, systems, loads, stress, and manufacturing-to achieve integrated solutions.
- Represent the structures discipline in design reviews, customer engagements, and technical boards, influencing key program outcomes.
- Champion improvements in structural methods, standards, and tools, enhancing efficiency and technical excellence.
- Interface with certification authorities as a delegated signatory or approver, ensuring compliance and safety assurance.
Who we're looking for
- Must hold Tertiary qualifications in either Mechanical, Structural or Aerospace Engineering;
- Extensive experience in aircraft structural engineering, with proven expertise in both modification and sustainment.
- Deep knowledge of structural analysis techniques, repair development, and certification processes within the Defence Aviation Safety Regulations (DASR) environment or within the equivalent CASA, EASA or EMAR systems.
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills with the ability to guide teams and influence stakeholders.:
