As the Pricing Manager, you will lead the design, implementation and optimisation of retail energy pricing across our B2C portfolio. Reporting to the Head of Commercial Strategy and based in Melbourne, this role plays a critical part in driving margin performance, supporting growth, and ensuring pricing remains competitive, compliant and customer‑aligned in a dynamic energy market.

You’ll combine deep analytical capability with strong commercial judgement, partnering closely with Product, Finance, Trading, Regulatory and Customer teams to deliver robust pricing strategies and insights that help shape business decisions.

This is an individual contributor role with significant influence across the organisation.

With respect, integrity and honesty you will:

  • Lead the development and ongoing optimisation of retail pricing strategies across the portfolio
  • Build, maintain and enhance pricing and financial models to support margin optimisation, cost recovery and strategic decision‑making
  • Conduct and lead periodic price reviews in response to changes in wholesale markets, network charges and regulation
  • Define pricing inputs and strategies for new product launches, acquisition campaigns and offer design in partnership with Product teams
  • Drive improvements in gross margin management through cohort‑specific cost stacks and enhanced cost transparency
  • Provide pricing guidance, commercial insights and analytical support to Sales, Marketing and Product teams
  • Analyse customer usage and consumption patterns, including carbon and green products and distributed energy resources
  • Ensure pricing complies with energy retail regulation, including standing and default market offer obligations where applicable

Who you’ll work with:

  • Pricing Operations to implement price changes accurately and efficiently
  • Trading and Retail Middle Office to reflect appropriate wholesale costs in customer pricing
  • Finance and Commercial Strategy to support forecasting and long‑term financial outcomes
  • Regulatory and Compliance teams to manage regulatory change and obligations
  • Customer teams to ensure pricing aligns with customer value propositions

Here’s what you’ll need to thrive in this role:

You’re a commercially minded pricing professional who thrives in complexity and ambiguity. You bring:

  • Extensive experience in pricing, commercial analytics or revenue management
  • Experience in energy pricing (particularly retail energy) with complex customer portfolios highly regarded
  • Advanced financial modelling capability, including scenario and sensitivity analysis
  • Proven experience translating complex cost structures (e.g. network tariffs) into customer pricing
  • Attention to detail paired with the ability to think strategically
  • Confident written, visual and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
  • A collaborative, proactive mindset and the confidence to challenge the status quo
  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Finance or a related technical discipline or equivalent
