We’re looking for a Presales Solutions Consultant to join our exciting Local Government Solutions team, specialising in Planning & Building based in Melbourne. In this role, you’ll partner closely with our sales team to understand customer challenges and bring our solutions to life through compelling demonstrations, solution design, and consultative engagement.
You’ll play a critical role in shaping how customers see the value of our solutions — from first conversation through to deal close — while also feeding insights back into product and go-to-market strategy.
A day in your role:
- Partner with Account Directors to engage customers and uncover business and technical needs through workshops and discovery sessions.
- Lead solution design and direction, ensuring alignment with customer goals and future-state vision.
- Deliver high-impact presentations and product demonstrations (standard and customised).
- Build and maintain demonstration environments and assets to support sales engagements.
- Translate solution value into clear business outcomes and ROI narratives for stakeholders and executives.
- Support tenders, proposals, and sales strategies, including solution scoping and bill of materials.
- Collaborate with Product, Marketing, and Leadership to share customer insights and market feedback.
- Represent the organisation in webinars, industry events, and thought leadership activities.
- Work closely with Professional Services to ensure a smooth transition from presales to implementation.
Your skills, experience and beyond:
- Proven experience running solution workshops, discovery sessions, and business analysis activities.
- Strong understanding of software applications and solution architecture.
- Proven understanding of Local Government Planning Legislation and council planning schemes in Victori
- Proven experience in Planning & Building systems or Local Government solutions (highly regarded).
- Background in local government, public sector, or regulated industries.
- Proven experience supporting presales or implementing enterprise software solutions.
- Strong ability to facilitate workshops, present to stakeholders, and influence decision-making.
- Experience contributing to sales processes, proposals, and structured selling approaches.
Confident communicator who can engage from operational users to executive stakeholders.
Commercially minded with the ability to articulate value and outcomes.
Curious, adaptable, and solutions-focused problem solver.
Collaborative and able to work across Sales, Product, and Delivery teams.
Degree in Planning, Business, IT, or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
