Why this Role?

Archetype’s Sydney team is growing, and we are looking for a PR Account Manager to help deliver thoughtful, integrated communications programmes for ambitious B2B technology, AI and corporate clients across Australia and APAC.

You will play a central role in keeping client programmes moving, turning insight into strong communications activity and helping clients navigate complex business and technology conversations. This is an opportunity to take genuine ownership of your accounts, work closely with senior counsel and grow your career in a globally connected agency.

About You

You are a curious and ambitious communications professional who enjoys combining strategic thinking with practical delivery. You understand what makes a strong story, how to engage the right audiences and how communications can support broader client and business objectives.

You are comfortable managing the day-to-day operation of client accounts, building trusted relationships and keeping multiple workstreams on track. You can work independently on your accounts while knowing when to seek guidance or involve more senior colleagues.

You enjoy working collaboratively, sharing ideas and helping junior colleagues develop. You are thoughtful, resilient and willing to keep learning. A good sense of humour will also be appreciated.

What You'll Do

As a PR Account Manager, you will help deliver high-quality communications programmes and provide reliable day-to-day counsel and account leadership.

  • Manage the day-to-day running of your accounts and act as a trusted point of contact for clients.

  • Lead integrated communications activity from planning through to delivery, including media relations, thought leadership, content and social.

  • Provide clear recommendations and practical counsel aligned to each client’s goals and priorities.

  • Develop strong story angles and identify relevant news, media and influencer opportunities.

  • Manage campaign timelines, budgets, deliverables and internal workflows to keep programmes on track.

  • Build positive working relationships with clients, journalists, influencers and colleagues across the Archetype network.

  • Guide and support junior team members, helping them deliver strong work and build their confidence.

  • Track programme performance, prepare clear reporting and turn results into practical recommendations.

  • Identify opportunities to strengthen client relationships, expand existing programmes and support new business activity.

What You'll Offer
  • Around 3–4 years’ experience in public relations, communications or a related agency environment.

  • Experience managing client accounts and coordinating communications programmes from planning through to delivery.

  • A strong understanding of media relations, including the ability to develop relevant story angles and secure quality opportunities.

  • Experience delivering integrated campaigns across earned media, content and social channels.

  • Strong writing, editing and presentation skills, with the ability to adapt content for different audiences.

  • The confidence to work independently on smaller accounts, with support from a senior consultant when needed.

  • Strong organisation and project-management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.

  • A collaborative, proactive and solutions-focused approach.

  • Experience working with B2B technology, AI, corporate or business-focused clients is preferred.

  • Experience supporting or mentoring junior colleagues is advantageous.
