This role is to join the back end Infrastructure team that own and maintain Centorrino’s multi-tenant private cloud platform. You’ll be hands-on in maintaining and optimizing our existing linux environments, which includes investigating and standing up proof-of-concepts to expand on our capabilities. This is not AWS/Azure — it’s about building and running an open source cloud platform end-to-end. 

This role is an opportunity to join a small, specialized, and high performing team that have exposure to cutting edge service-provider technololgy deployed at a scale much larger than most individual enterprises. The successful applicant will be someone with a meticulous nature who takes pride in their work, and takes ownership of the platform to drive it’s continuous improvement. 

Requirements
What You’ll Do
  • Take ownership of a multi-tenant private cloud platform and its day-to-day operations
  • Perform security patching, software updates, and system maintenance, including after-hours work when required
  • Manage platform services including backups, monitoring, and hardware components
  • Participate in datacenter work for hardware upgrades and maintenance
  • Lead system improvement initiatives by identifying, planning, and implementing enhancements
  • Explore and evaluate new technologies to support platform capability and business value
  • Apply a security-first mindset to all changes and implementations
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and client requirements
  • Develop and maintain clear, high-quality technical documentation
  • Share knowledge and provide guidance to uplift the technical capability of the wider team
  • Identify and implement process improvements to optimise platform efficiency
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust and secure infrastructure solutions
What You’ll Bring
  • Solid experience in platform engineering, ideally in a multi-tenant IaaS environment
  • Strong Linux engineering background and hands-on experience with OpenStack or similar open source cloud platforms
  • Automation skills using Ansible, Terraform, and scripting languages such as Python or Bash
  • Experience diagnosing and debugging distributed and microservice-based systems
  • Solid understanding of networking and security fundamentals
  • Exposure to Ceph, Kubernetes, or other open-source infrastructure stacks
  • Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps best practices
  • A proactive mindset with curiosity to deeply understand systems and technologies
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and a methodical approach to solving complex problems
  • A detail-oriented work style with a commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes
  • Ability to work independently and take full ownership of assigned responsibilities
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong team player with the ability to contribute positively to team culture
  • Australian citizenship and eligibility to obtain NV1 security clearance
