Job Description
The Opportunity
We're expanding our Victorian Operations and strengthening our team at ACCIONA.
As we continue to grow our capabilities across current and future major infrastructure projects, we're seeking experienced Project Planners to join our team.
Working within the broader project of tender teams, you will play a key role in planning and delivering major civil engineering projects, developing and managing project programs from tender through to completion. This role covers the full project lifecycle, including project management, design, procurement, construction, installation, and commissioning. You will drive the scheduling of works, monitor progress against baseline programs, and provide clear, timely reporting to support the successful delivery of some of the state's most significant infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program Development: Build tender and master construction programs from first principles using scope, contract, and design documentation, in collaboration with commercial, design, and delivery teams.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to align inputs and ensure program accuracy and acceptance.
- Resource Allocation: Assign plant, labour, and materials to programs, ensuring realistic and achievable schedules.
- Risk and Contingency Planning: Identify time risks and opportunities, support schedule risk analysis, and integrate contingency into master programs.
- Progress Monitoring: Conduct site visits, track progress against baseline, and produce regular updates and reports.
- Change Management: Analyse approved and non-approved changes, assess impacts, and support forensic delay analysis.
- Program Documentation: Contribute to program management plans and supporting documentation to maintain transparency and control.
Required Skills and Competencies
- Bachelor's Degree or vocational training in engineering or construction planning
- Strong communication, organisational and analytical skills
- Understanding of civil engineering construction techniques
- Proven experience across site-based planning and scheduling
- Proficiency in planning tools (Primavera P6, Powerproject, MS Project) and related software (QSRA, MS Office, Visio, CAD, 3D/4D)
- Commercial awareness and knowledge of standard contracts
- Experience across sectors such as Water, Road, Rail, Tunnelling, Earthworks, Commercial Build, Mining, Oil & Gas or Process Plants.
