About the Role

We are seeking an experienced, outcomes-focused professional to join our team in a critical leadership role supporting medical and occupational rehabilitation outcomes.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Occupational Rehabilitation Oversight:
    Manage and oversee Occupational Rehabilitation Providers (ORPs), working collaboratively to coordinate review meetings, analyse performance data and identify continuous improvement opportunities.

  • Medical Advisor Management:
    Act as the DCM lead for Medical Advisor management, overseeing work queues, supporting timely task completion and serving as the primary WorkSafe liaison for all Medical Advisor-related matters.

  • Medical & High-Risk Case Management:
    Support claims staff with complex medical matters, oversee out-of-policy requests, liaise with WorkSafe as required, and provide internal support for at-risk, suicide notification and vulnerable worker cases.

  • Performance Improvement:
    Contribute to the identification, analysis and improvement of business processes to enhance operational performance and outcomes.

  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to build collaborative relationships internally and externally, including with WorkSafe

  • Highly developed organisational and self-management skills

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and lateral thinking capability

  • Effective consultation, negotiation and influencing skills

  • Continuous improvement mindset with flexibility and adaptability to change
     

Experience & Knowledge

  • Agent experience (essential)

  • Strong understanding of workers’ entitlements, medical policy and related frameworks

  • Advanced knowledge of WorkSafe Occupational Rehabilitation services

  • Understanding of Agent remuneration drivers

  • Experience influencing outcomes at both individual (micro) and organisational (macro) levels

  • Experience applying a biopsychosocial model of claims management

  • Allied health qualification (preferred)
