Mercure Melbourne La Trobe Street is a brand new 4-star hotel joining the Accor network. Situated at 488 La Trobe Street in the heart of West Melbourne, the hotel is ideally located near key Melbourne landmarks including Flagstaff Gardens, Queen Victoria Market, Docklands, and Marvel Stadium.

We now have an extraordinary flexible part-time opportunity for a People & Culture Executive, to support the hotel through its critical pre-opening phase and successful launch.

Job Description

As the People & Culture Executive, you will play a key role in delivering guidance and support to all team members, throughout every stage of the employee lifecycle. You will champion our Heartist culture, fostering engagement, diversity and inclusion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a trusted advisor to leaders and team members, providing expert advice and guidance on people related matters.
  • Support department leaders in recruitment and onboarding processes, ensuring adherence to company standards and best practices.
  • Coordinate training and development initiatives, including on the job programs and online learning modules.
  • Ensure compliance with hotel policies, Accor primary policies and employment legislation.
  • Maintain accurate team member records and produce monthly reports on recruitment, training, turnover, and people related matters.

Qualifications

You are an adaptable and innovative People and Culture professional, eager to make an impact in a fast-paced environment. Your ability to communicate effectively and manage multiple priorities will be key to your success.

You will also have:

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a People & Culture / Human Resources capacity. Hospitality experience and pre-opening experience is desired.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Australian employment legislation, and a working knowledge of HIGA is essential.
  • Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to work well independently.
  • Ability to handle complex and confidential information with discretion.
