About the role:
Due to the continued growth and expansion of our People Advisory Team, we are currently looking for a People & Culture Advisor to join our team, based at our National Support Office in Burnley (just behind Richmond).
Reporting to our People Advisory Team Leader, in this role you will provide advice, support and solutions to our Bunnings leaders and team on all people related matters. You will be part of an exceptional team who are the first point of contact for all of our leaders and team members across the country.
This role is well supported by an established team of Leaders, Advisors & Lawyers and is structured as a hotline, where leaders call to liaise with you on daily people matters.
What's involved:

Support employee relations grievances and any investigations

Support the resolution of complex injury management matters

Provide support, advice and guidance to leaders in our business over the phone

Provide support and advice to stakeholders to ensure compliance with relevant legislative requirements

Negotiate outcomes that mitigate risks for the business and identify any employee relations trends

Utilise our new HR case management system to track and record all cases accurately and ensuring access to quality records and data
Who we’re looking for
Our ideal candidate will have a HR background with a good understanding around a variety employee relations matters. We have over 55,000 team members across our organisation so our ideal candidate will be familiar with supporting a large business and a variety of cases at any point in time.
Given we are a centralised telephone-based team we run a roster between 8am - 6pm Monday to Friday, availability during these hours is required along with flexibility to attend the Support Office 3 days per week.
You’ll need:

Tertiary qualification in Law, HR, business, Commerce, Industrial Relations, or a related discipline

Good experience working in a HR role with focus on employee relations ideally within a multi-site organisation

Understanding of and ability to interpret relevant Industrial Instruments (i.e. EA/Awards)

Sound knowledge of employee relations legislation

Experience before the Fair Work Commission and conciliations would be advantageous

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

A track record of taking initiative and achieving pragmatic outcomes

The ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders and influence decisions.
