About the role
We’re seeking a Payroll Project Analyst on a 12 month contract to play an important role delivering on Transurban’s people strategy. This role will develop and transition payroll solutions into the business-as-usual Payroll team, whilst continuously improving payroll tools, processes and controls.
You’ll join an innovative team reporting into the Head of People and Culture Projects and be responsible for the assessment, design and documentation of project payroll solutions, both technical and non-technical. You’ll also take a holistic view of the payroll system environment and end-to-end payroll process by quantifying the operational and employee change impacts delivered by projects.

Day-to-day, you will:

Understand Payroll requirements for the delivery of new and updated processes, tools and templates to ensure solutions being delivered are compliant, simplified and leverage automation solutions

Via workshop sessions collate core payroll scope through the documentation of project requirements and analyse “as-is” payroll processes, functionality and dataflows to identify gaps and deliver enhanced compliance and governance

Deliver “to be” documentation and approach that can be embedded into the payroll function and in conjunction with payroll stakeholders, develop revised payroll tools, solutions and processes

Deliver change strategies and learning programmes ensuring payroll solutions are effectively handed over to the operations team

Build payroll reports and associated documentation for analysis, project governance forums and committee meetings and be responsible for status updates on payroll change management

Understand payroll process specific to project deliverables and act as a SME on behalf of the Payroll function
This role will suit someone with a curious mind and transferrable skills and experiences, including:

Several years payroll domain knowledge in both operations and a project capacity either in the fields of compliance and remediation or payroll system transformation

Demonstratable analytical and problem-solving skills with an excellent attention to detail

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Visio and Word

A working knowledge of the Atlassian toolset including Jira and Confluence
-
Experience using ERP and Payroll systems with a preference for Workday and iChris
-
Industrial Relations knowledge in a complex multifaceted award and enterprise agreement landscape

Experience in project teams with agile ways of working
