Latitude Financial Services has implemented a partially outsourced Payroll model which means that our payroll processing is managed by an external vendor, Frontier Software.
The purpose of this Payroll Manager role is to act as the conduit between Frontier and Latitude to ensure that our payroll services are executed efficiently. This role will also be responsible for successfully embedding the partially outsourced Payroll model and be a dedicated point of contact back into Latitude as well as an escalation point whilst the new model is being embedded.
Importantly, it will also support payroll activities that remain in house, such as responding to employee Payroll queries, loading and signing off on payroll files, conducting data audits and payroll compliance and regulatory reporting.
This role will also lead a team of 1-2 Payroll Specialists.
Responsibilities:
- Successfully embed the outsourced Payroll model and assist in further efficiency in outsourced model.
- Act as key point of contact and build strong working relationships with our outsourced payroll providers (Frontier Software for AU and NZ)
- Troubleshoot and respond to employee payroll queries in a timely manner, ensuring the employee experience is front of mind
- Support the development/review and implementation of frameworks, policies, guidelines, tools, templates, processes and reports to improve payroll efficiency
- Provide high-quality operational payroll services and advice to business stakeholders e.g. People Partners, to support decision making relating to payroll
- Manager and mentor to any additional payroll positions within Latitude
- Support the delivery of projects and initiatives that are designed to enhance the employee and leader experience relating to payroll
- Prepare other data, reports and analytics as required
- Work closely with People Operations and Reward teams to ensure data accuracy in our HRIS (Workday) and continuously improve the integrity of payroll related data
- Manage the integration of data across multiple HR platforms – Workday, Chris21 (Pay & Leave), Time & Attendance. For example, if we roll out a new incentive scheme - this role will manage the integration and mapping of the scheme into our HR systems as well as project manage the change with the outsourced payroll vendor – comms, testing and training to ensure vendor can facilitate payment (as part of payroll) under a new incentive scheme
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Minimum 5-7 years’ experience in payroll
- Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources/ Business/ Commerce/ Law discipline, or equivalent professional experience
- Sound knowledge of Australian and New Zealand payroll legislation and regulations
- Experience working within, and preferably managing, an outsourced or partially outsourced payroll model
- Proficient in MS Excel (e.g. advanced formulas, pivot tables, charts, VLOOKUP)
- Strong knowledge of HR Systems (e.g. Workday or similar)
- Strong knowledge of payroll systems and processes. iChris/Chris21 experience preferred but not essential
- Strong interpersonal, collaboration and engagement skills with the ability to build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships
- Strong analytical skills and capability to concisely generate and communicate insights from data
- Strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines, with excellent attention to detail
- Proven execution skills with a solution focused mindset, outstanding ability to be proactive own tasks and follow through to completion
