As part of our continued growth, ERM has an exciting & career defining opportunity as a leader to join our global consulting firm as a Partner, focused on Project Planning and Approvals in Sydney NSW, Australia.

We are looking for an outstanding professional who combines strong consulting, technical, delivery and client skills to help ERM foster and expand a network of excellent client relationships by driving outcomes that create tangible value for our clients.

This role includes, but is not limited to, selling and delivering high quality technical services, recruiting and developing our next generation of leaders, and further advancing our reputation for the management and delivery of capital projects for our clients.

Responsibilities

Primary focus on supporting our clients in environmental approvals and impact assessments for renewable energy, mining, infrastructure and/or industrial sector clients.

  • Lead and manage an approvals and planning team to secure major project approvals for clients in the renewable (wind farms, solar, hydrogen etc), mining, infrastructure and industrial space.

  • Lead environmental assessment projects and related approvals management in support of ERM clients’ capital project delivery.

  • Build, grow, and manage a high-performance team, serving as a leader and mentor to consultants. Identify emerging talent and work with them to reach their full potential; ensure rising stars are nurtured, developed and given new areas of responsibility

  • Support the growth and development of ERM’s Capital Project Delivery service area and actively collaborate with colleagues across the nation and globe.

  • Drive innovation within the technical community to stay ahead of client needs and to differentiate ERM in the market

  • Work in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment to build ERM’s business, as well as to lead client and technical teams

  • Meet business financial targets, overall project budget and schedule, client satisfaction / expectations, and internal and contract requirements

  • Partner with Account Directors to actively develop commercial strategies to pursue and win new business opportunities that result in significant revenue growth with target clients aligned with ERM’s global strategy:

    • Provide business value selling at the top levels of client organisations, raising the profile of ERM’s capabilities within key client organisations, to identify and shape clients’ needs for ERM services

    • Develop new client relationships and expand existing relationships by delivering strategic consulting advice, excellent value, and quality service.

    • Maintain pulse on industry business cycles and prioritise sales efforts toward high-potential, top opportunities.

    • Manage capture efforts utilising technical understanding to develop proposals, including written content, pricing, presentations, contracting.

If you have the following, we want to hear from you:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications; 

  • 15+ years of environmental planning and approvals, impact assessment, working within WA and Commonwealth legislative requirements.

  • High degree of technical competence in environmental planning and approvals, due diligence, land use planning, post approval management and broad knowledge of impact assessment best practices, with a solid grasp of the key impact assessment and management issues within the renewables, infrastructure and industrial sectors. 

  • Solid experience building sustaining relationships with major clients.

  • Authorisation to work in Australia 

  • In-depth understanding of Project Approvals challenges including existing relationships that can be leveraged into new business.

  • Business acumen to understand business risk and challenges, and recognise corporate opportunities

  • Demonstrable track record in delivering multimillion dollar sales results annually, including successfully winning large and strategic projects.
