As Operational Excellence (Line 1 Risk) Manager, you will lead the uplift of risk and
control practices within our Sales Finance business. Sitting in the first line, you’ll
work across product, pricing, marketing, and partner management to ensure risks
are proactively identified, processes are efficient and compliant, and control
environments are embedded in how we work. You will champion operational
improvement while keeping customer, partner, and regulatory outcomes front and
centre

In this role, you’ll:

  • Lead the design and implementation of Line 1 controls across core
operational processes (e.g. pricing execution, campaign approvals, partner
    onboarding).

  • Identify and address control gaps, process inefficiencies, or emerging
operational risks through continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Collaborate with the end-to-end value chain to ensure new initiatives are
launched with fit-for-purpose risk frameworks and documented controls.

  • Act as a key point of contact with Line 2 Risk, Compliance, and Audit, ensuring
evidence and traceability of control activities.

  • Drive process optimisation through automation, documentation, and clearer
    roles/responsibilities.

  • Monitor risk metrics and performance indicators, producing regular reporting
    and deep dives as needed.

  •  Support readiness for internal and external reviews, and drive proactive
    remediation of findings

About You:

  • 5+ years of experience in operational risk, controls, or operations
management roles in financial services or fintech.

  • Able to take a pragmatic and commercially minded view of risk, ensuring a
well-functioning risk controlled operation that delivers against commercial
    priorities

  • Strong working knowledge of Line 1 vs Line 2 responsibilities and risk
frameworks (e.g. Risk and Control Self Assessments (RCSA), control testing,
    remediation planning and execution).

  • Hands-on experience improving or redesigning operational processes in a
    regulated environment.

  • You are naturally fluent in using AI and digital tools to streamline
documentation, accelerate control testing, enhance operational process
design, and generate actionable insights for monitoring and reporting

  • Analytical and detail-oriented, with a pragmatic approach to embedding
    controls into day-to-day workflows.

  • Able to collaborate across the end-to-end sales finance value chain including
enablement teams influence without authority and drive collective outcomes.

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene

Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
