As part of our ongoing commitment to our people, due to a promotion within the technology team we are seeking a Network Engineer to join us. The networking technology team provides key services to the Transurban business, maintaining and supporting the networks operations that support core organisational functions and their high availability. 

 

About the role 

 

This role reports to the Network Manager and will see the Network Engineer be involved in evaluating and selecting technologies to maintain, support and automate them. In addition, the Network Engineer will provide technical input on all network-related matters across the organization, from decision making down to project planning. 

The role may include 24*7 on-call on a rotational basis, the role qualified for on-call payment and time-off-in-lieu. And travel to our data centres based across Melbourne. 

 

Day-to-day, you will: 

 

  • Provide third level network management to support Transurban operations 

  • Opportunity to be involved in project work 

  • Integrate network solutions that improve security and efficiency of Transurban operations 

  • Ensure incidents are actioned based on SLA guidelines. 

  • Liaise with customers to keep them informed of network related incidents with time frame for resolution 

  • Change Management procedure is adhered to. 

  • Contribute to the continuing development of Network Operation processes, procedures, standards and methodologies. 

 

This role will suit someone with a curious mind and transferrable skills and experiences, including: 

 

  • Ideally you have experience in a similar, complex enterprise environment 

  • Cisco experience including routing, switching, wireless 

  • Experience with NextGen firewalls ie Palo Alto and/or Cisco 

  • Solid communication skills to deal with technical and non-technical audiences

  • Some experience in change management (ITIL) 

  • CCNP or equivalent 

  • Experience with administrating Firewalls, F5 load balancers and/or SD WAN infrastructure
