National Transport Supplier and Planning Manager

As we continue our transformation and growth journey in the region, we are now looking to appoint a National Transport Supplier & Planning Manager to lead our national linehaul operations and supplier management.

About the Role

The National Transport Supplier & Planning Manager plays a pivotal role in optimising our transport operations through three core elements:

  • Supplier & Vendor Management – Streamline and enhance supplier frameworks to effectively monitor and manage performance, reviews and negotiations. Work collaboratively with Procurement, Legal, Operations, Transport, and Finance to build strong supplier partnerships that ensure cost-effective, high-quality service delivery.

  • Planning & Network Optimisation – initially focusing on linehaul network optimisation, developing planning capabilities across resources, systems, vendors, fleet & equipment, and P&L. Ensure the efficient allocation of resources to maximize fleet utilisation and cost efficiency.

  • Operational Execution & Compliance – Oversee centralized linehaul planning, fleet utilisation and regulatory compliance, ensuring seamless execution of the national transport network while maintaining high service levels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Transport Network Management: Optimise national linehaul operations, route planning, and fleet utilization.

  • Supplier & Vendor Oversight: Manage supplier contracts, performance reviews and compliance while collaborating across key business functions.

  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure all transport suppliers meet regulatory standards, including COR, FSANZ, BRC, HACCP and more.

  • Operational Excellence: Maintain high service levels (>97% DOT), maximize fleet utilization, and ensure food safety compliance.

  • Cost & Budget Management: Deliver budget targets, manage financial performance and identify cost-saving opportunities.

  • Continuous Improvement: Lead efficiency initiatives to optimise transport performance and offset cost increases.

  • Team Leadership & Development: Train and mentor linehaul planners to drive innovation and operational success.

About You

  • Extensive experience in national transport, linehaul planning and supplier/vendor management.

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to drive engagement, performance and continuous improvement.

  • Deep knowledge of compliance, fleet operations and transport optimisation strategies.

  • Proven ability to manage budgets, negotiate contracts and enhance cost efficiency.

  • Extensive experience with Transport Management Systems (TMS), ideally Blue Yonder, to support planning efficiency and optimisation.

  • Strong analytical skills with an understanding of Data Analytics/Power BI to support supplier relationship management and performance reviews.

  • A data-driven mindset with a strategic approach to problem-solving.
