Job Description

We are seeking to appoint a National Sales Manager – MICE & Groups to bring strategic value and energy to our high-performing team at Minor Hotels Australasia. This national role, based in our Corporate office on Collins Street, is instrumental in driving the growth of Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Events (MICE) and Group business across our 65+ properties in Australia and New Zealand.

In this key position, you will play a critical role in delivering revenue growth through proactive business development, key account management, and the execution of forward-thinking sales strategies. You will represent  Minor Hotels brands with a deep understanding of the MICE sector, inspiring trust, collaboration, and long-term relationships with clients and partners.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Develop and execute national MICE & Groups sales strategies to drive revenue across VIC, QLD, SA, and WA
  • Grow and manage key client accounts, focusing on corporate, government, PCO, and association segments
  • Lead proactive business development through outbound sales, lead generation, and high-impact proposals
  • Collaborate with hotel and revenue teams to optimise occupancy, ADR, and revenue across key properties
  • Represent Minor Hotels at trade shows and industry events to elevate brand presence and convert leads
  • Maintain accurate CRM records and ensure timely reporting on pipeline activity, conversion rates, and revenue performance
  • Conduct regular client reviews and site visits to build strong relationships and ensure exceptional service delivery
  • Support event operations by liaising with vendors and resolving issues to ensure successful event execution
  • Contribute market insights and competitive intelligence to inform agile sales planning and strategy.
  • Partner with Marketing and Tourism Organisations to develop co-branded campaigns and destination-led initiatives.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you will require the following skills, experience and qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in a similar role within the tourism industry, demonstrating a solid understanding of market dynamics and customer needs
  • A proven track record of driving sales growth and expanding business opportunities, with measurable results in revenue and client acquisition
  • Exceptional communication abilities, both written and verbal, with the capacity to convey complex ideas clearly and effectively to diverse audiences
  • Outstanding attention to detail and advanced time management skills, ensuring precision and efficiency in all tasks and responsibilities
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues, analyse solutions, and implement effective resolutions
  • Experience working collaboratively within a larger team, contributing to and aligning with collective business goals and strategies
  • A polished professional presentation and a strong work ethic, reflecting a high level of dedication and integrity in all professional interactions.
