About Salesforce

We’re Salesforce, the Customer Company, inspiring the future of business with AI+ Data +CRM. Leading with our core values, we help companies across every industry blaze new trails and connect with customers in a whole new way. And, we empower you to be a Trailblazer, too — driving your performance and career growth, charting new paths, and improving the state of the world. If you believe in business as the greatest platform for change and in companies doing well and doing good – you’ve come to the right place.

Are you passionate about technology and its potential to transform learning? We’re looking for a senior Account Executive to join our Public Sector team, focused on driving innovation within Higher Education and University sectors across Australia.

As a trusted advisor, you'll lead the full sales cycle—crafting strategic account plans, engaging deeply with education leaders, and delivering Salesforce solutions that truly make a difference. If you’re excited by the chance to combine commercial acumen with social impact, this is your opportunity to help shape the future of education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute territory and account plans for the higher education sector.

  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of the education landscape, including regulatory changes, government initiatives, and procurement cycles.

  • Position our Education Cloud solutions to address the specific needs of educational institutions.

  • Meet and exceed sales targets by prospecting, qualifying, managing, and closing opportunities within the assigned territory.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Business Development Representatives, Cloud Sales Executives, Solution Engineers, Services Practice Managers, Marketing, Inside Sales Support, and Customer Success Professionals, to drive a strategic, customer-focused sales approach.

  • Co-develop and execute detailed account plans for larger accounts within your territory.

  • Build and manage strategic partnerships and alliances as part of an integrated account and territory strategy.

  • Maintain accurate and strategic account data in CRM systems, ensuring it reflects account status and sales opportunities.

  • Cultivate and expand relationships with K-12 and Higher Education customers by understanding their unique challenges—such as budget constraints, regulatory requirements, and evolving government policies—and positioning Salesforce solutions effectively.

  • Stay ahead of competitive trends and market dynamics to provide innovative solutions and drive customer success.

  • Communicate effectively with leadership, customers, cross-functional teams, and partners to align with public sector needs and priorities.

  • Participate in team-building and professional development activities, including strategic planning, sales training, customer marketing initiatives, and volunteering.

  • Travel as needed to engage with customers and support sales efforts.

Benefits

We are pioneers of the Pledge 1% model, providing products, grants and community service to those in need. We are proud to be#1 in PEOPLE's Top 50 Companies that Care, and are on Fortune’s Change the World list.

  • We provide every employee with 7 paid volunteer days off a year, and donation matching for all approved charitable donations.

  • We provide other world-leading benefits to all our employees, including;

  • Health, Life, Trauma and Income Insurance

  • Monthly Wellness Allowance

  • IVF, Adoption and Fertility Preservation Support

  • Flexible Time off & leave policies

  • Parental benefits

  • Perks and discounts

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene

Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
