With over 600 investment professionals globally, MASS manages $2.6 trillion across a broad range of portfolios, including multi-asset funds, model portfolios, and customized solutions for institutional and wealth clients. The team operates across major investment hubs including New York, London, San Francisco, and Asia Pacific.
Role Overview
We are seeking a Japan Product Strategist to play a key role in growing our multi-asset business in Japan. This is a high-impact, client-facing role that sits at the intersection of investment expertise, product strategy, and business development. You will work closely with portfolio managers, research teams, and distribution partners to deliver compelling investment insights and solutions to clients.
This role is ideal for someone who combines strong investment acumen with commercial mindset and excellent communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
Investment Strategy & Market Insights
Develop and articulate market views, portfolio positioning, and investment insights to internal and external stakeholders
Partner with portfolio managers and research teams to shape multi-asset strategies relevant for Japanese investors
Identify market trends and contribute to new product ideas and strategic initiatives
Enhance investment processes through data, technology, and scalable solutions
Client Engagement & Business Development
Act as a trusted advisor to clients, clearly communicating investment strategies and performance
Create high-quality client materials, presentations, and thought leadership content
Support business growth by aligning investment messaging with client needs and market opportunities
Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and internal stakeholders
Lead cross-functional collaboration from idea generation to product implementation
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in asset management, trust banks, or broader financial services, preferably with exposure to multi-asset, portfolio solutions, or investment strategies
Fluent Japanese and business-level English (written & spoken)
Strong communication skills with the ability to simplify complex investment concepts for different audiences
Commercial mindset with an interest in client engagement and business development
Nice to have:
Strong investment knowledge and curiosity across financial markets (rates, equities, FX, or multi-asset)
CFA / CMA/ FRM (or progress towards qualifications)
Familiarity with tools such as Bloomberg and Excel
Experience with data analysis, automation, or coding (e.g., Python)
