About you

We are looking for a Lift Modernization Sales Consultant to be based in our South Melbourne office in Victoria.

You will be responsible for selling the OTIS range of Modernization products and developing good relationships with our customers in a competitive environment.

This permanent role reports to the Construction and Modernization Sales Manager based in Victoria.

As a Sales Consultant, Your Key Responsibilities are 

  • Generate Modernization sales leads from construction lead indicators, industry reports, tenders, personal sales research, and customer networks. 

  • Determine client requirements and design parameters quickly in order to configure Otis products/solutions and be able to assist in the development of future construction projects to maximize Otis’s opportunity to secure new business. 

  • Develop and implement a strategy to maximize Otis’s opportunity for acceptance of proposals. 

  • Conduct negotiations with clients, gaining progressive support from local management and support departments depending on the size of the project. 

  • Interact with senior management within OTIS to develop sales strategies, value propositions and manage the OTIS sales processes.

  • Maintain a sound knowledge of Otis’s and its competitor’s product range, the building and construction industry, relevant Codes, and contract practices to competently deal with building owners, agents, architects, builders, consultants, developers, and statutory authorities.​

What You Will Need To Be Successful

  • Sales experience within the Lift or Engineering industry will be preferred.

  • Exposure to selling services to property management companies, strata corporations and building owners will be preferred.

  • Experience working within a large, matrixed company environment and proven sales track record for developing and selling large deals. 

  • Strong verbal and communication skills.

  • Have exceptional time management skills and possess strong organizational abilities.

  • Excellent attention to detail and results-driven.

  • Good knowledge of using technology including mobile applications and computer-based reporting systems (Word, Excel, Email, Internet, database management) to analyze data and trends.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business, Engineering, or its equivalent would be preferred but not essential.
