To provide Intermediate level mobile engineering services, including the direction, evaluation, selection, configuration, implementation, testing, automation, and integration of new or existing technologies and tools.
This engineering position will be responsible for establishing the Mobile Enablement team’s presence in Australia. The Mobile Enablement team is Vanguard’s enterprise mobile team, supporting our app development teams in the US, UK, Germany and Australia and driving best practices in mobile around the globe. The team supports key strategic initiatives such as mobile CI/CD pipeline, adoption of CREDaaS for mobile, push notifications, and promoting reuse and collaboration across teams.

What you will do
- Evaluate and introduce new mobile technologies through research, proof of concepts.
- Collaboration with internal stakeholders aligning platform requirements and architecture and provide feedback, improve ways of working
- External vendor coordination for integration, security reviews, platform validations and onboarding into vanguard ecosystem.
- Lead technical assessment for vendor solutions and manage integration into mobile platform.
- Drive continuous improvements by identifying gaps in tooling, process and developer workflows and provide solutions for improvements.
- Document and educate teams on new tools, patterns and provide guidance.
- Collaborate with global teams to promote consistency and innovation across mobile platforms.
- Deliver intermediate-level mobile engineering services including evaluation, configuration, implementation, testing, and integration of new or existing technologies.

What we are looking for
Degree in Computer Science or equivalent preferred or relevant experience
5+ years of experience as a mobile developer
To be successful in this role, you should have:
Extensive experience in mobile application development using the React Native stack.
Proficiency in one or more relevant programming languages (e.g. Swift/Objective-C, TypeScript)
Ability to learn new technologies quickly and demonstrate a hands-on understanding.
Strong understanding of design patterns, integration patterns/practice, Data modelling principles and best practices.
A good track record of project delivery for large cross-team projects.
Strong communication skills and the ability to connect with engineers, managers, Product Managers, customers.
Experience with Cloud Development Platforms, Mobile/Web development frameworks, and micro-service architecture.
