Job Description

  • Bring your passion and feel the energy
  • Work with the iconic Dan Murphy’s brand and a high performing, award-winning team
  • Lead the strategy and development of Dan’s integrated experiential marketing program

As Marketing Manager - Events & Experiences, you will define and execute Dan Murphy's branded events and experiences strategy, aligning it with commercial, marketing, and customer goals.

You will partner and collaborate cross-functionally (Operations, Loyalty, Legal, Brand Marketing, PR, Store Teams) to embed our 'Drink Better For Less' brand purpose, bringing bold ideas and activations to life, and support the customer plan through events and experiences.

If you are someone who has a creative, innovative mindset and a passion for customer experience, brand storytelling, and shaping culture through experiences then this may be the role for you!

You’ll thrive in a fast-paced environment, with strong experience in leading teams to design and deliver unique, memorable, industry-leading brand activations and partnerships; whilst championing innovation, cross-functional collaboration, and ensuring consistency, quality, and impact across all brand experiences.

Sounds good? Read on.
Here is a taster of what you can expect in this role:

  • Own the strategy and development of Dan Murphy's integrated experiential marketing, including industry-leading activations, events, and partnerships.
  • Manage key relationships (Merch, Operations, Loyalty, agencies, suppliers) to deliver the customer plan and activation schedules. Acquire and advocate for MilZ and Premium customers through engaging, educational, and entertaining events that showcase our service, range, and value.
  • Support store teams in executing immersive, store-based customer experiences to elevate brand perception and drive loyalty (including new/refurbished stores, premium event formats, Mixin, and supplier events).
  • Oversee the Events Champion Program, including training and ensuring adoption of the Instore Eventing Playbook and its legal compliance.
  • Collaborate with the Loyalty team to devise unique member experiences that support My Dan's engagement and retention.
  • Partner with the broader Marketing Team to extend the program across digital, social, and physical channels (including influencer, CRM, and PR) to maximize reach.
  • Review and manage all sponsorships and partnerships, ensuring alignment with brand goals and KPI delivery.
  • Lead and inspire the team by role modeling Endeavour Ways of Working and Values, empowering an end-to-end, customer-first matrix environment.
  • Identify brand and experiential trends, especially around community building, to keep Dan Murphy's current.
  • Work with Customer & Category insights and Loyalty data to identify opportunities for activations, improved experiences, and partnerships.
  • Partner with Data & Analytics to develop a robust measurement framework and dashboard for weekly/monthly reporting on program impact.
  • Commercially manage budgets and resources to ensure measurable business impact, brand love, and ROI.
  • Oversee the Event Management Platform (e.g., Stova) for efficiency.
  • Professionally represent Dan Murphy’s internally and externally as a cultural and experiential leader.

Qualifications

Now let’s talk about you:

  • Minimum 7 years’ proven experience in events or brand experience roles, ideally within multi-brand, retail, or lifestyle sectors

  • Strong experience leading cross-functional teams and managing external agencies, with the ability to collaborate effectively across complex stakeholder groups

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene

Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
