The Marketing Manager will lead marketing efforts in Australia, including content generation, customer engagement, project management, and collaboration with teams to drive brand awareness and commercial success.
About the role
We are searching for a driven, capable Marketing Manager to take on Halter’s marketing in Australia. This is a hands-on, high impact role for someone who loves to problem solve, can think with both creativity and data, and will never shy away from a challenge. This is a rare opportunity to be Halter’s first on the ground marketing hire in Australia, as we begin to scale more across the country.
Roles like this don’t come along often - we are a high growth company, with big ambitions and the people and product to match. Best of all, Halter is a true challenger brand - we tell stories, run campaigns and experiments that shake up the status quo. We’re not afraid to do things differently to make a real impact in the industry. Sound like a bit of you?
As our first marketing hire for Australia, you’ll be passionate about the customer voice, motivated by getting out on farm with customer teams and customers, and feel comfortable diving into all elements of marketing. You’ll find yourself moving between organising events and merchandise, working with creative teams to generate content, researching customer personas and editing the website. You’ll work closely with our global marketing hub (based in New Zealand) as well as the customer teams in Australia and the wider marketing team (spread across New Zealand and the United States). You’ll be a self-starter, comfortable working in ambiguity and ready to grasp the growth that comes with being first on the ground. Finally, our customers are spread across Australia, so this role will require travel time to time, to ensure you are connecting with customers and generating content on the ground.
Aside from driving commercial success, you will be making a real-world impact, giving Australian beef and dairy farmers the chance to make their businesses more productive and sustainable.
Who we are looking for
- Commercially minded - You’ll know the different levers marketing can pull to directly drive commercial outcomes
- Experience running marketing projects including events and campaigns (print and digital)
- Experience generating content - both yourself and with an agency or creative team. This might include videos for social media or YouTube, performance marketing assets, email copy, case studies, and more
- A strong understanding of the marketing funnel; and how you can contribute to success at different levels in the funnel
- Experience managing and editing website content
- A wide working knowledge of our systems: Salesforce, Hubspot, Webflow, Google Suite, Meta Ads etc
- Embrace rapid growth & curiosity: We believe that trying new methods and approaches leads to innovation, and innovation keeps us on the leading edge
- Ideas generator - You love the idea of crafting compelling stories that connect with farmers and bring our brand to life. You know how to engage an audience and make complex ideas relatable.
Nice to have
- Experience in a startup, high-growth company, or new venture environment.
- Background in agriculture or SaaS.
What your day could look like
- Content leadership: Work with the wider marketing team to ensure relevant content is created and shared for the Australian market. This may include getting onto farm and creating the content, working with external creatives, and providing direction to others in the marketing team on content requirements.
- Customer engagement: Visit farms to connect directly with our customers, gather insights, and create authentic, valuable and relatable content. Gain a deep understanding of the needs and challenges our customers face to inform messaging.
- Website management: With support from the global team, you will be responsible for keeping our Australian website in line with brand and market needs, updated to communicate the strongest value propositions, and performing well.
- Project Management: You will lead the delivery of projects that activate our brand in Australia, including events, print media and strategic partnerships.
- Collaborating: Work cross-functionally with sales, product, and global marketing teams to deliver successful marketing campaigns. Adapt quickly to changes in a fast-paced environment, embracing new ideas and continuously innovating to meet the evolving needs of our customers and industry.
- Other responsibilities, as required, from time to time.

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene
Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
