The Role

We’re looking for a Market Risk Analyst to join our APAC Market Risk team, supporting 24/7 global risk coverage during Australian and Asian trading hours.

This role plays a critical part in monitoring and managing Pepperstone’s market risk exposure across asset classes including FX, CFDs and crypto. You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders and contribute directly to protecting the business while enabling sustainable growth.

As our Market Risk Analyst, your key responsibilities include, but may not be limited to:

• Monitor and analyse Pepperstone’s market risk exposure across all asset classes
• Prepare and deliver market risk reports and analysis for senior stakeholders including the Team Lead, COO, CFO, CEO and Board
• Assess assets and perform market valuation analysis, highlighting risks and opportunities
• Actively minimise group market risk using financial instruments
• Escalate potential issues to senior members of the Market Risk team
• Support and monitor back‑end pricing systems and trading infrastructure
• Assist with the expansion of asset classes and instruments offered to clients
• Support daily BAU tasks as required
  

About You

• Degree in Mathematics, Finance or Engineering
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
• Experience building reports and working with large datasets
• Solid understanding of FX, CFDs, derivatives and crypto products
• Knowledge of the crypto and CFD / spread‑betting industries
• Proficiency in Excel and exposure to SQL or Tableau
• Ability to work effectively in fast‑paced, high‑pressure environments
• Strong attention to detail and sound judgement
• Confident communicator with the ability to influence and collaborate cross‑functionally
