What you’ll Do

Based at our Laverton Site in Melbourne, Victoria, our Human Resource Manager will be the trusted people partner for warehouse operations and support teams. You’ll lead key HR initiatives, coach leaders, and ensure our people practices support safety, compliance, and business performance. This role is hands-on, influential, and central to creating an engaged, inclusive, and productive workforce.

As the Human Resource Manager for Laverton Victoria, and Wivenoe Tasmania, you will support and guide three operational sites within Americold. You will partner, guide and lead the HR impact across those three sites. As this is a multi-state role, travel to Tasmania will be required. 

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Partner with operational leaders to deliver effective workforce planning and people strategies.
  • Lead employee relations matters and build strong relationships with union representatives.
  • Drive performance, talent development, and leadership capability across sites.
  • Champion culture and engagement initiatives that enhance employee experience.
  • Ensure HR processes comply with legislation, enterprise agreements, and company policies.
  • Support organisational design and continuous improvement projects.
  • Use HR data and insights to influence decisions and improve organisational effectiveness.

What Experience and Education You Need

  • 5+ years’ experience in an HR Manager, HR Business Partner, or senior HR generalist role.

  • Experience in logistics, manufacturing, supply chain, or similar operational environments.

  • A strategic mindset and experience implementing strategic HR initiatives.

  • Strong ER/IR capability with confidence engaging with unions and employee representatives.

  • Excellent communication, coaching, and influencing skills.

  • Ability to work autonomously, manage competing priorities, and build strong relationships.

  • Willingness to travel across VIC & TAS sites and work in cold/chiller environments during visits.

  • Tertiary qualifications in HR or Business (preferred).
