In this pivotal role as Manager, Site Planning, you’ll be a crucial part of Moderna’s Supply Chain Planning team, managing and enhancing planning processes at our Clayton, Australia site. You will leverage your expertise in SAP/APO functionality and production planning to ensure efficient, timely delivery of Moderna’s transformative products. This role is highly collaborative, working across multiple teams to align site-based operations with Moderna’s global supply chain standards, optimizing production capabilities, and addressing operational challenges with a forward-thinking mindset.

Here’s What You’ll Do

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Leading site-specific planning processes, engaging with stakeholders in structured discussions on a weekly and monthly basis.

  • Ensuring the alignment and implementation of global supply chain standards in site planning practices.

  • Collaborating closely with the Global Supply Chain Planning team to synchronize tactical plans with site-level operations.

  • Overseeing production, release, and supply plans to promptly address and resolve any deviations from expected timelines.

  • Coordinating with warehouse operations and site SC leads to prioritize supply needs, ensuring consistent customer service levels (CSL).

  • Managing site capacity over the tactical horizon to align with strategic S&OP requirements and optimize production resources.

  • Supporting the development of optimized Production Plans, proactively identifying risks and facilitating decisions through monthly supply reviews.

  • Maintaining and updating planning and master data parameters, collaborating with master data and global supply chain teams to uphold data integrity.

Your responsibilities will also include:

  • Tracking and analyzing performance metrics (on-time supply, inventory, and critical material targets) and leading root cause resolution for systemic issues.

  • Ensuring material availability in collaboration with the Global Material Planning team to meet production demands.

  • Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives for Site Supply Chain processes, enhancing operational efficiency.

  • Additional duties as assigned to support overall site and global supply chain goals.

  • We pursue options in parallel: You will explore multiple planning and operational strategies simultaneously, optimizing resource allocation, and addressing site-specific challenges to enhance Moderna’s overall production efficiency.

Here’s What You’ll Need (Basic Qualifications)

  • BS/BA in Supply Chain, Science or Economics/Finance is essential

  • 8+ years’ experience as a Production Planner within Biotech, Pharma or other related batch production manufacturing environments

  • 5+ years’ experience with SAP MPS and MRP

  • This position is site-based, requiring you to be at Moderna’s site full-time. This position is not eligible for remote work.

Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table (Preferred Qualifications)

  • APICS/ASCM CPIM and CSCP accreditations preferred.

  • Working knowledge of site supply chain processes including demand management, S&OP, production planning, capacity planning, material planning and procurement, order fulfilment, master data and life-cycle management.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead through influence, at all levels, in a complex environment with matrix organization.

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across boundaries (functional and cultural) and form effective working relationships with colleagues.

  • Customer and business focused – determined to deliver successful outcomes in a cost-effective way.

  • Demonstrated change management and process management experience is preferred: demonstrated usage of data to drive process improvements.

  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
