About the team
Credit Portfolio Assurance (CPA) sits within our Risk Management division and plays a critical role in maintaining the strength of CommBank’s credit risk oversight. The team provides independent, Line 2 assurance over the Group’s credit portfolio, with a focus on the quality and consistency of credit assessments and the effectiveness of our credit risk management framework.
Our work spans across regions and industries, both onshore and offshore, and our insights help shape continuous improvements in policy, process and practice. You’ll be part of a collaborative and experienced team of professionals who are curious, analytical and purpose-driven.
About the role
In this role, you’ll lead or contribute to Credit Portfolio Assurance reviews across a range of business units and credit portfolios. You’ll assess individual credit exposures, identify emerging trends, and help ensure adherence to Group policies and regulatory expectations. Your insights will be shared with senior leaders including Group Executives, supporting informed decision-making and stronger risk outcomes.
This role can be shaped as either a Manager or Senior Manager position, depending on your level of experience.
In this role, you will
Conduct credit reviews and portfolio assessments, applying sound judgement and commercial awareness
Provide objective assurance on credit decisioning, portfolio quality and risk processes
Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders across Risk and the business
Contribute to clear, high-quality reporting that supports governance and continuous improvement
Champion collaboration and support knowledge sharing across the broader team
We’re looking for people who
Have been on a career break for two years or more
Hold permanent Australian working rights
Bring experience in a Line 1 or Line 2 credit risk role in Commercial, Corporate or Institutional Banking (typically three years or more)
Communicate clearly and confidently, with strong influencing and relationship-building skills
Are motivated, curious and eager to continue learning and growing
