Role Overview
Join GitLab's dynamic Regional Marketing team where you'll craft integrated campaigns that showcase GitLab's value to government agencies and public sector organizations through in-person and digital experiences. We're seeking an experienced marketing leader to develop and execute field marketing strategies across the AMER Public Sector landscape. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the distinct challenges facing government agencies in their digital transformation journeys. This position offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on GitLab's presence in the public sector market while working with a collaborative, cross-functional team in a fast-paced environment.
What You’ll Do
- Act as a senior leader to build and co-drive the overall strategy for the US Public Sector business with the PMM PubSec lead.
- Drive collaboration amongst the team members within the marketing organization who support the US Public Sector business in alignment to overall strategy.
- Continually experiment, test and iterate programs to define best practice and evolve the program as the business grows.
- Analyze and report on the impact and performance of regional marketing to a range of audiences, from local leadership to the executive level and tailor the insights accordingly including sharing key marketing insights quarterly with GitLab’s Federal Customer Advisory Board.
- Co-lead the in-person Federal Customer Advisory Board twice a year meetings, including customer engagement and content preparation.
- Achieve high and consistent pipeline goals and ROI from Marketing programs in PubSec, through operational rigor, measurement, and budget and financial management.
- Be a leader in working cross-functionally to drive the execution of demand generation and field marketing plans, aligning with other areas of marketing.
- Help be the voice of the customer, bringing critical insights from events and customer engagements to marketing teams across the business
- Work with GitLab solution matter experts and sales leadership to help identify the best speakers for regional engagements
What You’ll Bring
- 7+ years progressive experience working with US Public Sector sales team, distributors, and channel partners.
- Knowledge of state and local, Civilian, DoD, and Intelligence Community agencies and ability to translate this into a cohesive marketing plan for the Public Sector.
- Team management and development skills, including career development and coaching; experience managing people.
- Data-driven, using data to measure results and inform decision making and strategy development.
- Experience managing marketing budgets and allocating resources across tactics.
- Orientation to managing program details.
- Experience delivering on both third-party and owned events.
- Ability to travel if needed and comply with the company’s travel policy. Travel up to 50%.
- Able to coordinate program details across many teams and iterate and deliver in a fast-moving startup environment.
- Excellent communication and writing skills, and the ability to distill down complex ideas in a variety of mediums (written content, presentations, and verbal communication).).
- Proficient in Salesforce, Marketo, Tableau, Asana, Allocadia, GitLab, and Google Workspace.
- High EQ and an excellent relationship builder, with the ability to secure resources and get buy-in from stakeholders.

The base salary range for this role’s listed level is currently for residents of listed locations only. Grade level and salary ranges are determined through interviews and a review of education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities of the applicant, equity with other team members, and alignment with market data. See more information on our benefits and equity. Sales roles are also eligible for incentive pay targeted at up to 100% of the offered base salary.
