Job Description

Opportunity snapshot:

The Manager of Implementations for the APAC Transfer Agency business is responsible for the management of the team responsible for Ideation and Discovery pipeline/backlog for complex client revenue, business, product, and regulatory initiatives. This role will also have BA practice responsibilities for the Business Analysts embedded within the Engineering structure of the Transfer Agency Technology business. The Manager of Implementations APAC will utilise their previous experience in managing teams of consultants and business analysts to enable delivery of complex client revenue, strategic business, technology, product, and regulatory change initiatives for the APAC Transfer Agency Business. To ensure SS&C is focused and delivering required strategic priorities for clients and/or the SS&C Transfer Agency business.

Key accountabilities:
  • Responsible for the management of the team responsible (Business Consultants) for the Ideation and Discovery pipeline/backlog for complex client revenue, business, product, and regulatory initiatives for the APAC Transfer Agency business.
  • BA practice lead responsible for support, training and development of best practice frameworks, methodologies and tools for the Business Analysts embedded within the Engineering structure of the Transfer Agency Technology business.
  • Work with each Program Sponsor as required (Client Revenue, Product, Business, and Regulatory Programs) to prioritise the pipeline/backlog in line with the agreed prioritisation methodology.
  • Work with the Head of Front Door Transfer Agency APAC to ensure assignment of Ideation and Discovery work to the Business Consulting team.
  • Work with assigned Business Consultants to review and ensure Definition of Done (DoD) is achieved for each phase in line with the Delivery Framework for the APAC Transfer Agency business.
  • Work with each Program Sponsor (Client Revenue, Product, Business, IT, and Regulatory Programs) to produce, review, and seek approval for necessary business cases via the APAC Transfer Agency Portfolio Steering Committee to obtain required endorsement in support of the delivery of internal strategic initiatives (i.e. SS&C funded).
  • Actively identify and champion innovation initiatives supporting the business strategy,
  • Share best practice, lessons learned and constantly updates understanding based on changing technologies, practice, and knowledge.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Act as trusted adviser to senior business leaders on strategic alignment, planning and analysis.
  • Demonstrate thought leadership through the development of strategic recommendations and identification of key risk areas.
  • Lead development and implementation of internal initiatives that align disaggregated processes and approaches to change delivery.
  • Identify solution options which will meet the business need, then evaluate feasibility, to determine the best solution approach.
  • Assist portfolio management in defining portfolio/project scope, resource demand, benefits, and risks during the discovery phase; may lead discovery efforts.
  • Work with architects and other ICT groups to ensure that system architectures meet the needs of the enterprise to deliver on the business capabilities.
  • Ensure the business is aware of emerging trends, practice and technologies in the marketplace and how they may contribute to business outcomes and strategies. 
  • Collaborate with other Analysts and functions across SS&C to improve practices and drive consistency.
  • Actively manage the engagement between divisions and collaborate with all appropriate Enterprise leaders to this end.
  • Provide input and information for new business opportunities which may include completing client workshops and/or presentations.
  • Provide data to inform the prioritisation of initiatives across SS&C’s portfolio of work whilst aligning to the growth strategy.
Prior knowledge, skills, and competence:
  • 10+ years leading teams, consulting, business analysis, and Delivery experience in Financial Services (e.g., Asset Servicing – BPO, Unit Registry, Custodian, Fund Accounting, Funds Management, Superannuation, Pension Funds)
  • Commercially astute, with a customer focussed ‘can do’ attitude.
  • Expertise in facilitation and collaboration at senior levels, generating information and analysis, selling new concepts, and steering debates towards pragmatic solutions.
  • Ability to assess the business implications of the application of technology to the current and future business environment at an enterprise level.
  • A flexible approach and responsiveness to new ideas and activities, demonstrated by willingness to take on new challenges, roles, and responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated experience in the development of gap analysis and feasibility studies, requirement artefacts, risk analysis, cost impacts, business cases and delivery plans.
  • Demonstrated experience with project development frameworks and methodologies.
  • Understanding of strategic and business planning and how this is refined down to implementing business change.

Education & qualification:

  • Degree, qualifications and/or relevant experience in similar organisations
  • Relevant business analysis experience.
