Every business faces a financial reporting or accounting issue at some stage – whether this be due to growth or due to changes in reporting standards. In these situations, expert advice underpinned by an in-depth understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) is crucial.
As the IFRS accounting standards and Australian Accounting Standards continue to change and challenge industries, our team is expanding and continuing to uncover new opportunities and new ways to assist our clients.
Current Opportunity
We have an opportunity for a Manager to join our IFRS & Corporate Reporting team in Melbourne. In this role, you will provide a range of technical and strategic, financial and corporate reporting advice to clients. In addition to the breadth of IFRS exposure and complex challenges, this role will have a lead role in supporting our clients that now have a responsibility to report under the new sustainability reporting standards.
As a member of the IFRS & Corporate Reporting team, you will have a breadth of opportunity to apply your expertise in both strategic and technical delivery roles across a range of finance function advisory, financial governance, transformation, infrastructure and other iconic public sector projects.
Key responsibilities will include:
Deliver mandatory sustainability reporting services, including process development and audit readiness across carbon footprint measurement, climate risk assessments, scenario analysis, and preparation of sustainability disclosures
Provide tailored advice on sustainability and climate-related financial reporting across sectors, aligned with evolving standards and frameworks
Deliver expert advice on IFRS, AASB, and Australian Sustainability Reporting Standards
Support the CFO Advisory team with technical accounting aspects of projects
Support and mentor junior team members
Contribute to proposal development, training, and coaching
About You
CA or CPA qualified or tertiary qualification/s in a related discipline
Experience in financial audit and/or demonstrable experience in ESG/sustainability assurance and advisory, including reporting frameworks
Strong knowledge of IFRS and AASB standards and experience with providing accounting advice
Ability to interpret complex reporting requirements and translate them into practical client solutions
Highly developed interpersonal skills and positive attitude with a self-motivated approach to the role
Growth mindset and interest in learning and developing in response to the rapidly evolving sustainability reporting landscape
Self-motivated, outcomes-based individual
