Your Team
The Advice Services team aims to provide suitable affordable advice solutions for all CFS existing and prospective customers. The Manager, Advice Risk & Compliance reports to the Director, Advice Risk & Compliance and sits within our Customer Office.
The Manager, Advice Risk & Compliance contributes to ensuring that advice delivered to CFS members through CFS affiliated advice channels, including CFS branded advice under agency relationships, intrafund advice or digitally supported advice channels, meet all regulatory requirements, and members’ best interest.
This role is based in our Hawthorn East Office in VIC.
Your Responsibilities
AFSL requirements and obligations management
The development and upkeep of key compliance frameworks including controls, policies, and procedures.
Monitoring and Supervision of financial advisers - including advice assurance, onboarding & offboarding, of both CFS-licensed and agent-licensed financial advisers.
Incident reporting and monitoring, with a focus on data quality.
Advice complaints handling and reporting.
Governance activities including committee and board reporting.
Working collaboratively with Line 2 Risk and Compliance, aiding a strong risk culture across CFS.
Ensuing the end-to-end advice service compliantly meets regulatory requirements whilst supporting both a good member and adviser experience.
Contributing to the CFS Risk and Compliance function including Line 3 audit reviews, risk transformation projects, and other activities that support CFS strategic objectives.
Your Capability and Experience
- Solid experience in risk and compliance advisory within Financial Advice businesses is essential
- Relevant degree qualification (for example, Law or Finance).
- A strong understanding of the Corporations Act as it relates to Financial Advice, as well as a good understanding of the broader regulatory landscape for wealth management.
- Strong experience in Monitoring and Supervision of financial advisers, including advice assurance.
- Experience of risk and compliance frameworks including obligations, controls, and policies.
- Incident management experience with an understanding of both IDR and EDR.
- Proven ability to work with business stakeholders, both internal and external.
Exceptional collaboration and influencing skills across multiple functions.
A continuous improvement mindset.
