Key Areas of Responsibility:
• Maintenance and reconciliation of general ledger for power station operations
• Monthly invoicing, including invoice review, debtors reconciliation and follow up of outstanding invoices
• Analysis of variances to budget
• cost control and monitoring and preparation of project costing reports
• Fixed asset maintenance including asset acquisition, disposal, running depreciation and reconciliation to general ledger
• Preparation of Management Accounts for the operations
• Preparation of the annual budget and monthly forecast
• Preparation of audit schedules
• General accounting support to region managers and supervisors
• Challenge established business processes and “ways of working” to deliver cost efficiencies and/or process efficiencies
• Management of timesheets, chargeable cost centres and work in progress accounts
• Document preparation and control of capital expenditures (AFE’s) and contract services expenditures for external contract works
• Obtaining a working understanding of major commercial contracts
• Oversee the compliance with company policies and procedures
• Special projects as requested
• Actively ensure own health and safety and the health and safety of others through understanding and implementing workplace health and safety obligations
• Any other duties appropriate to the level and responsibility of the position as required.

Qualifications and Experience
• Tertiary qualification in a finance related discipline, preferably accounting
• Ideally CPA / CA qualified, or partially,
• Experience in a similar position
• Strong computer literacy essential, including basic Excel and Word
• Experience with Pronto Accounting System, desirable but not essential.
