About Azurreo
Azurreo is the telecommunications and technology arm of Seelon Holdings, a privately held international investment group operating across four continents. We specialise in telecom network performance testing, measuring quality of service (QoS) and quality of experience (QoE) for operators and technology vendors worldwide.
The role
We are looking for a reliable and mobile Local IT & Operations Support Assistant based in or around Melbourne, Australia, who can provide occasional on-site IT, equipment, logistics and operational support.
This is a freelance, on-demand engagement, not a full-time or part-time employee position. There are no fixed or guaranteed weekly hours, and there may be weeks with no assignments. Assignments will be requested as operational needs arise and, whenever possible, scheduled in advance.
Azurreo is currently establishing its local presence in the Melbourne area and does not yet have a permanent office at this location. The person selected will initially also help us with practical local activities such as visiting and scouting potential office or workspace locations, meeting local service providers, collecting information, taking photographs and providing feedback to our remote teams.
Once a local workspace or office is established, the role will also include occasional physical support for IT equipment, shipments, inventory and other operational requirements.
Because assignments may take place at different locations in and around Melbourne, a valid driving licence, access to a car and the ability to travel independently are essential requirements for this role.
Key responsibilities
Local site visits and scouting
* Visit and assess potential offices, coworking spaces, storage locations or other premises identified by Azurreo.
* Help scout suitable local locations based on requirements provided by our operations team.
* Take photographs and videos and collect practical information about potential locations.
* Verify details such as accessibility, parking, internet and connectivity options, access arrangements and other practical considerations.
* Attend scheduled visits or appointments with property representatives or local service providers when requested.
* Provide clear feedback and documentation following site visits.
* Liaise with local vendors, couriers, property representatives and service providers.
Equipment, logistics and IT support
* Receive, prepare and coordinate incoming and outgoing shipments of laptops, IT equipment and other company materials, including working with carriers such as DHL and FedEx.
* Collect or deliver equipment and materials locally when required.
* Maintain accurate records of equipment received, stored, assigned, shipped or returned.
* Carry out physical inventory checks and update the corresponding digital records.
* Prepare, inspect and organise laptops, peripherals and other IT equipment when required.
* Provide basic on-site troubleshooting for laptops, peripherals, connectivity and other IT equipment.
* Follow instructions from Azurreo’s IT and operations teams when an issue requires someone to be physically present.
* Take photographs, record serial numbers or provide other documentation needed to confirm completed work.
* Report damaged, missing or malfunctioning equipment promptly.
* Complete other occasional local IT, logistics or operational tasks within the scope of the engagement.
How the engagement works
* Work is assigned on an on-demand basis, in the manner of a side job.
* There are no guaranteed minimum hours or fixed weekly schedule, and some weeks may have no assignments.
* Assignments may range from a short local visit to a full day, depending on the task.
* Most assignments will take place during normal Monday-to-Friday business hours.
* We will provide the location, task details and expected scope before each assignment whenever possible.
* Some assignments may require travel to different locations in or around Melbourne.
* You must be able to travel independently by car.
* As our local operations develop, the nature and frequency of assignments may evolve.
Fees
Each assignment is paid at a fixed fee, in US dollars:
* Half day (0 to 4 hours): USD 50.
* Full day (4 to 8 hours): USD 100.
What we are looking for
Essential
* Based in Melbourne or within easy travelling distance of Melbourne, Australia.
* Valid driving licence and access to a car.
* Comfortable travelling independently to different locations in the Melbourne area.
* Reliable and responsive when occasional local assistance is required.
* Comfortable working independently and following remote instructions from international colleagues.
* Basic knowledge of laptops, computer peripherals and common IT troubleshooting.
* Good organisational skills and strong attention to detail.
* Comfortable visiting potential premises and collecting structured information on behalf of the company.
* Reliable and careful when handling company equipment.
* Able to maintain accurate records and provide clear written updates after completing an assignment.
* Comfortable communicating with local vendors, property representatives, couriers and service providers.
* Good communication skills.
* Good working English, which is essential for communicating with Azurreo’s international teams.
An advantage
* Previous experience in IT support, field support, office operations, logistics, inventory management, facilities or a similar role.
Location and mobility requirement
You must live in or near Melbourne and have access to a car.
Azurreo does not currently have a permanent office in Melbourne. The purpose of this engagement is to have a reliable person locally who can act as our physical point of support when an activity cannot be handled remotely. This may involve visiting prospective office locations, meeting service providers, handling equipment or completing other practical assignments at different locations.
When applying, please indicate:
* Where you are currently based.
* Approximately how long it normally takes you to reach central Melbourne.
* Whether you have a valid driving licence.
* Whether you have regular access to a car.
* Your general availability for on-demand assignments during normal business hours.
What we offer
* Flexible, on-demand freelance assignments.
* A fixed fee per assignment: USD 50 for a half day and USD 100 for a full day.
* Clear instructions and support for each assignment.
* Reimbursement of pre-approved business expenses incurred when carrying out authorised assignments.
* Exposure to the operations of an international telecommunications and technology company.
* The opportunity for recurring assignments based on operational needs, availability and reliability.
* Collaboration with colleagues working across multiple countries.
* The opportunity to support Azurreo as we establish and develop our local presence in Australia.
Please note: this is a freelance, on-demand engagement. It does not provide fixed working hours or guarantee a minimum volume of assignments.
How to apply
If you are based in or around Melbourne, have your own means of transportation, are comfortable with flexible on-demand assignments, and enjoy practical IT and operational work, we would be happy to hear from you. Please apply with your CV and complete the short screening questions. As location, mobility and availability are particularly important for this engagement, please answer them as accurately as possible.

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene

Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
