This is a unique opportunity to work at the heart of a respected financial services business, where your expertise will directly influence commercial agreements, regulatory compliance, and operational risk management. You will collaborate closely with senior leaders, guide critical decision-making, and help strengthen the organisation’s governance and licence obligations. With broad exposure to investment research, funds management, and financial advice ecosystems, you will develop deeper expertise in a dynamic environment that values autonomy, high standards, and continuous improvement.

Your key responsibilities as a Legal Counsel will include:
  • Providing timely, practical, and commercially sound legal advice to the Executive Team and Board across a wide range of matters.
  • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating key commercial agreements, including fund manager and superannuation rating agreements, subscriber agreements, employment contracts, confidentiality documents, and service provider arrangements.
  • Support Zenith’s compliance and risk management frameworks to ensure adherence to all AFSL, ASIC, and broader regulatory obligations.
  • Managing legal and compliance risks by developing, maintaining, and communicating relevant policies, procedures, and internal training.
  • Preparing regulatory advice, summaries, and committee papers to support governance, reporting, and decision-making.
You will need the following experience and skills to join us as a Legal Counsel:
  • You must be admitted to practice as an Australian Legal Practitioner and eligible to hold a Practising Certificate.
  • You must have proven experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Legal and compliance experience within the financial services sector is highly regarded, ideally in investment research, funds management, or financial planning.
  • Strong knowledge of AFSL obligations, ASIC regulatory requirements, and risk management frameworks relevant to the Australian financial services environment, also highly regarded.
  • You will excel in communication, stakeholder engagement, and the ability to translate legislation into clear, practical business procedures.
