This role is an Australia-based, fully work-from-home position, with access to co-working spaces in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.
Job Description
Utilising a solid understanding of procurement practices, export / import controls and new market expansion, the Legal Counsel will contribute to Montu’s continued growth and success with a focus on commercial contracting, and advertising in support of wholesale, procurement, and partnerships across Australia and international markets.
In conjunction with the legal team the role will work on a variety of innovative legal issues across the company leveraging expertise, good judgement, and strong business sense to assess and mitigate legal risk while finalising contracts at a fast pace.
Key Responsibilities
- Review, draft, and negotiate commercial agreements with vendors, customers, and partners for the purchase and distribution of regulated therapeutic goods, including intercompany transactions.
- Respond promptly to legal questions and requests from various stakeholders in the business.
- Keep current on relevant industry standards, laws, and regulations, including import / export regulations for therapeutic goods and healthcare services regulatory requirements.
- Assist with corporate regulatory requirements including company secretary work.
- Establish templates and training modules to support the business to continue to grow at pace.
- Suggest and assist in implementing improvements to existing processes and enablement resources.
Qualifications
- Qualified to practise in Australia with a minimum of 4-6+ years PQE.
- Hands-on experience reviewing and negotiating a variety of contracts within a fast-paced company.
- Strong contract drafting skills.
- Propensity to roll up your sleeves, learn the business and proactively identify and analyse opportunities and risks as well as pragmatic mitigations to address them
- Is comfortable participating in cross-functional and internationally distributed teams.
- Must have a high degree of capability in Legal advisory, Risk management, Commercial negotiations, Stakeholder collaboration
